Udoka hasn't coached a single game for the Rockets yet and isn't a god. People are allowed to have their own opinions. You wanted a humbled Brooks on a vet minimum contract. His contract is the opposite of minimum and he doesn't sound humbled at all. If the only thing that changed your mind was Udoka then let's just say I don't have that kind of faith. I'll change my mind on Brooks when his play improves, not because a coach with a one year track record wanted him.
I'm not suggesting Udoka is a god. I am suggesting he was a very smart basketball player and is a very smart coach, who learned under arguably the greatest coach of all-time. I would have been really excited about Brooks on a minimum contract, and as I said earlier, I don't have any problem with people arguing that he's overpaid. I don't love that contract either. But that Udoka wants him so badly has softened me to it. I don't think Udoka is a god, but I do think he's a smarter basketball mind than any of us.

That's probably not realistic for NBA minutes/possessions, I would be ecstatic if we can get him to under 12 FGA's with a higher proportion of corner catch and shoot 3's. No mid range shots whatsoever, only wide open 3's and attacking the rim on aggressive closeouts. Pretty sure that's Udoka's plan. You look at that Celtics team, Udoka benched anyone and everyone that took stupid shots. We have plenty of depth to do that. I'm fact he better be careful, Eason might make him look really bad this season.
