I noticed that a lot of the right wing or "conservative" news outlets tends to strip out context and focus on the literal words in order to spin a story. Nothing wrong with that....so long as it's recognized as entertainment and not journalism. But heck, media is a mess anyways.

I don't know man, he's been giving out some serious weird vibes the past years. His quotes have always been eyebrow raising and never seemed intended for shock value.

When people want to get attention to further their career, they leak a porno. They don't go on a racist tirade.

I never got Into or enjoy most of these old sunday comics like peanuts, Dilbert, etc.

Only one I love and still to this day browse is Calvin and Hobbes.

Man is the only one that never sold out his creation with merchandise. Deep, thought provoking, creative and a beauty to read. I was always sad to see Bill Watterson end the series when it was so popular but at least he's not milking it like some of these comic series.

True, but it certainly would make a lot of news.

I found it difficult to find the poll results from which this controversy originated. Rasmussen didn’t publicly publish the answers as far as I could tell.

    Here are the results:

Those remarks, on the “Real Coffee with Scott Adams” YouTube show, spun off a recent poll by the Rasmussen Reports polling firm (more about them later) that asked Americans if they support the statement “It’s okay to be white.”

According to that poll, 42% of Black respondents said they “strongly agree,” 11% said they “somewhat agree,” 21% said they were “not sure,” 8% said they “somewhat disagree” and 18% said they “strongly disagree.”

    https://amp.kansas.com/opinion/editorials/article272615974.html

Adams is complaining about people taking his message out of context.

Did he bother to consider context when discussing these results and jumping to the conclusion that black people in America are a “hate group”? If he was trying to lampoon organizations that are overly liberal in their “hate group” designations, he could have made that more clear. I don’t think that was his intent.

Card is a whole different ball of wax. Closet homosexual who hates himself due to his religion. I feel bad for him.

Tangential but not negative: ever notice how many amazing Mormon Sci-Fi and Fantasy authors there are?

Can't find a link now but npr had played a clip of Adams on the fallout saying essentially that this ain't his first rodeo and he knew exactly what the fallout would be when he did it. That essentially he was asking to be cancelled. And he's still smugly saying that no one is willing to engage him on the meat of what he was expressing (paradoxically, don't discriminate and avoid people who don't respect you). He obviously doesn't respect me so I'm avoiding him.

Is a Scott Adams really claiming that no one is disagreeing with him with what he said?

at this point the only way out for him is to get a brain scan and hope for a tumor. brain tumors are known to change a person's personality for the worse.
