all this talk about how great yao is and how great the rockets are is cool and all, but it sure does make me nervous. they are off to a good start, now lets try not to jinx it by proclaiming the rockets as champions after 2 weeks of the season. people need to stop proclaiming yao as the best center or the MVP or whatever and let him play and be his humble self.

Yes, I agree, that quote is disrespectful to Yao. He makes it sound like Yao has no skills. He's just a tall guy whose success is attributed to his height. When actually, Yao has more skills than just about any other 7 plus footer to play the game.

    What an @$$hat!!!!

The guy totally discredits Yao. I know some of you Shaq fans will say "He's saying Yao has always been a good player". I call BULLCHIT.....look at the differences between Yao's quotes about Shaq and Shaq's quote about Yao. The guy is refusing to admit he was outplayed by Yao. It's hillarious to see someone who looks like he should play football instead of basketball make an excuse like "He's just big and 7-foot-6" . Shaq's in denial and I'm loving it.

Because that's the way Yao is and he's the bigger man for it (literally and figuratively ) ;)

Shaq has 4 rings and Yao has no ring so far.... so Yao is is right in showing respect to Shaq.

Yao is humble let his action do the talking. The time is YAO for a championship to come back to H-town and Yao will lead us to the promised land.

Chill out guys, not all basketball fans are blinded, for example, on heat blog

    http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sports_basketball_heat/

I also read some of the comments on the blog and most Miami fans are actually saying that Yao not only outplayed shaq but outclassed him off the court as well.

    So there ya go...

Its not just Yao, Shaq is an equal opportunity sour puss, he trashes everyone.

Deke and Yao are boys, we need to bring the Franchise back because he is Yao's homey also and he can ball as well.

good link. yeah, you guys should all read those comments from the blog. very classy/respectable/complimentary fans. they even seem higher on the rockets than we do.

the thing about yao....he makes it absolutely impossible for people to not like him and root for him. that's what class and humility combined with great play does. the most eye-opening, unique figure to ever play in the nba, in my opinion.

shaq is getting old and can't accept it.

he had the worst year of his career last season (statistically). worse than his rookie season. this year he will drop off some more. he needs to do the right thing and accept the fact that yao is the man now and pass the torch.

So did Hakeem. Would he have said something like that? Hell no. Robinson? Ewing? No way. Shaq doesn't come across as an ass, HE IS ONE!

And nobody in this damn world has a "right" to talk **** to anyone, especially AFTER they got slapped around.

"how much "help" do you really need, when you have a 7-6 freak, who can hit shots from all over the court, inc free throws? Whoever accuses yao of being "soft", it doesnt matter, how you get your 27 ppg, does it? and he prevents alot of points in the paint from the opposing teams doesnt he?"

    Quote from a Heat fan.
