A few teams have had success sending a guy to harass Harden as he brings up the ball, and I'm surprised the whole league hasn't begun copying that blueprint yet. Once the playoffs begin, I'm fully expecting coaches to start applying pressure on Harden before he crosses halfcourt on nearly every possession.

True, on the other hand I fully expect Harden to post best numbers of all time during playoffs

Excited to see if PLAYOFF Gordon returns. Relentless attacking and better ball control.

I assume CP3 will bring more intensity on both ends from the start, which I don't think I've seen from him in sustained spurs since he got hurt against San Antonio (the game Kawhi played).

In these situations I'd like to see another guard come get the ball and bring it up the court uncontested. Then give it to James immediately over half court. Saves energy for James and hopefully cuts down on the opportunities for the refs to call some stupid offensive foul on him.

We will see violence. Hide your kids, Draymond is going kick some balls. I hope we kicked them out of the playoffs.

So, would a zone defense hurt the Rockets in the playoffs? discuss.

That’s fine. Those teams pressing will just get fatigued from doing that most of the game. Have fun with that...

Big warriors fan told me it’s gonna be interesting to see if a one play offense can win, but that it might be the best play ever run.

Are you willing to deny James to leave open gunners at the 3? Are you willing to let harden slice up your bigs as long as 3s aren’t being launched? Are you even talented enough defensively to make a choice? Are you talented enough offensively to keep up?

Frankly the warriors won’t be easy but the teams I worry about seeing are the spurs and the raptors. I don’t think this warriors team has the same fire. I think they especially lack quality depth like the rockets have.

but but... if he's not carrying a bunch of minutes on a nightly basis and going full force... how will he ever have any rhythm? won't his shooting ability go in the tank? That's what MDA says happens... and he's an offensive genius and all... lol! ;)

Didn't the Wizards run a 2-3 zone against us, resulting in even more 3 pointers?

    N

No. He'll have his lift. Not tears in the "man area" and he'll be all systems go to be our enforcer with Big Tuck.

He's wanted this. NeNe is ready to win, and he wants to do it here because DM believed it him. Those were his words.

MY fear is that DM trades him in the offseason for a different piece. You can't but leadership and grit.

    But, this is Houston.

Don't mess with my guy. We're doing the 4th of July with our fam this year!

Dont misunderstand... I'm a Nene fan and look forward to him beasting in the playoffs... commentary was more a tongue in check reference to MDA's assertion that 'resting' Harden resulted in his shooting struggles... which I think is utter nonsense... A well rested player may take a couple games to find his optimum rhythm - but will be far better in the long run... which is what I expect of Nene.
Enjoy your barbeque... hopefully yall will spend it discussing the Rockets recent championship! ;)

    1. Way less fouls and FT’s for Harden.
    2. Suspicious travel calls on the step back, side step, and euro step.
    3. Foul trouble for our top 3 defenders (LRMM, PJ, and Trevor).
    4. A bit more TO’s
    5. Defenses forcing PJ to make a play out of the P&R from the elbow.
    6. Half court double team traps to get the ball out of Harden or CP’s hands.
    7. Full court press to tire out either Harden or CP.

yeah we need Cp3 and Gordon to bring up the ball. Harden getting needlessly frustrated at full court press sometimes he forgets how to run the offense.

Today was a perfect example of what will happen in the playoffs. I'm not saying we are doomed and teams have figured us out, because we will figure out a counter. But, putting pressure on the ball early really messes with Harden's game.

It seems like other players need to move up if the other teams are pressing rather than sit still for their set.

If it breaks up spacing doing that, then spend a little time resetting the play and pass to the open man twice.

Other teams will mix it up and try to catch them by surprise. I think they did well against the wolves fcp because thibs gave it away
