Yep. I do like the new direction of the team though. I went ahead and renewed my season tickets. I didn't do that with the Texans
Its hard to top a WS title, but losing control of your clubhouse gives Hinch both a higher ceiling and a lower floor when compared to Dierker era baseball in how I think of them.
As much as I liked Bagwell and Biggio, those guys were so negative on interviews. I know it was a different era, but I think they just put so much pressure on themselves that they didn’t play loose. And were easier to defeat by other teams. And they seemed to run that clubhouse with extreme rigidity. The Altuve/Springer clubhouse seemed loose and happy. It seems they didn’t press as much, and were able to play with a clear head. These Astros just knew, trust the percentages, and things will fall in line… and they did!
Fun thread, if we're going on best single seasons: 1B: Bagwell 2B: Biggio SS: Correa 3B: Bregman LF: Alou CF: Hidalgo RF: Berkman C: Ausmus or Maldonado, doesn't matter DH: Altuve Bench: Carl E, Spiers, Marwin, other C SP: Verlander, Cole, Unit, Hampton, Kile or Morton? RP: Wagner, Dotel, Pressly, Osuna, Elarton, Devo, McHugh, Harris That team would **** people up. If we're going on best span over those maanger's years, that's a different story.
I truly try to forget that I was at that Warriors game. My Astros game was Game 1 vs Nats not a sucker punch but should have won game 1.
He got hurt, Carlos Hernandez got hurt, and Wade Miller got hurt. Our rotation was decimated heading into that series.
