Er, one ordinary person voting in a country of 300 million is always going to be irrelevant by himself, Sam. Sorry if you've just realized that.
Another reason to not vote: it pisses off Chris Matthews: http://www.mediaite.com/tv/chris-ma...nst-idiots-who-vote-third-party-or-stay-home/
Voted no. The only real way to make an impact with governmental policies is to found a business, make ridiculous amounts of money, and then buy/donate whatever policies you want.
I have now voted in 3 states due to owning homes in 3 different states... 2 early votes and one in person.
You can achieve the same thing by simply being born wealthy, and then running for office. Either way, it's something we should all feel a bit embarrassed by. I'm still voting though ... not for anyone who's going to win, but if it's the only legal manner in which I can express my discontent with a teeny-tiny-largely-insignificant impact, then it's better than just voicing my displeasure on the internet.
ah, the old "if you don't vote then you can't complain" argument. George Carlin would like a word with you: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/qxsQ7jJJcEA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> As for me, I chose not to vote because I would rather spend 2 hours of my life being productive instead of casing a vote that won't make any difference (Harris county goes democrat by a huge margin, Texas goes Republican by a huge margin). I was tempted to vote Gary Johnson to make a statement, but I figured that I might as well stay home since they won't report Johnson's votes anyways. Sad sad reality we live in right now.
No. I'm not fine with others making decisions over how my money ought to be spent or how my life ought to be lived. They don't have the right to do so. Conversely, I have no right to determine how their money ought to be spent or how their life ought to be lived. Sure, they'll vote and **** me over, but that doesn't mean I should do the same. Two wrongs don't make a right!
Your state never registered me when I asked them to when I applied for my drivers license last year. I was really disappointed when I couldn't vote for Jody Cooley to tick off my co-workers whom hated his radio commercials.
