did you arrive at cc.net before or after the YAO rush?

way before..... i stumbled onto this site sometime in '97 i wanna say, back when it was ClutchCity.com. rarely posted and had a different name (BomberE something). took a pretty long hiatus probably around 2000 where i checked in only a few times a month or less, but have been a reg again since '02.

 

Wasn't it a web site at a Utah university?

I remember there were some links to other Rockets boards, like "Launch Pad!" or "Keg Notes" and some other ones.

I lurked for a long time before I registered, and even longer before I started posting.

 

I think I have been visiting since 1997 and first posted in 1998 or so.

I'm still bitter that ClutchCity really hit it big while I was on a Mormon mission from Sept '97 - Sept '99, cause I've been around since the very beginning. But I didn't use computers for 2 years, so I didn't register on the current BBS until I returned to normal life.

Oh well.

 

It was his fiance's (now wife's) webpage, who attended school in Boston. He attended a Utah university (I'm not gonna say which if he won't) and updated it from there.

Come to think of it, he never did publish that program that computed the derivative of chicken.

 

after. But i think i'm less of a "yao" fan than before and more of a rockets fan now. I get more excited when we win than we yao pads his stats.

I've been here a VERY long time. In fact, I had a different moniker, but forgot the password and had to re-register and still managed to in 1999. I was here back in the day when Rockets went thru the torture of losing to the Jazz in the playoffs, the games where Drexler and Olajuwon scored 40points each to beat the Jazz...Some good times, some bad times, overall GREAT experience.....I dont post much but have been pretty much through everything the Rockets have gone thru since the Championship days..

 

I've been visiting since the fall of 1996, I think it was, after the Barkley/Mario Elie thing went down.

I remember the BBS being the only place to go for hoops talk during the the last few weeks of the lockout in 1999, but I didn't sign up to post until 2001. Long live CF.net!
