Quick question btw, for all those that said they lurked, how did you guys viewed the threads with out registering?

 

I lurked way back in the day, but then I never got around to signin up. Until May 03 I think. But I used to get on with a friends sn long time ago, dont think its even open anymore.

 

this is actually my third moniker.....

I (like others) had been visiting the old main page back in like 98 or late 97 or somewhere around there....found the forum link right after it started....but never bothered to register till right before the first forum went kaput...then I registered another one with the new boardd....which I promptly forgot since I never posted anyway...when I finally got the guts to post...I realized I didnt remember my nick...so I made another one.....

even then...i didnt really post much until early 02...

for the record....I have been following the Rockets since 69 or 70....a year or two after they came here from San Diego...

Didn't you just answer your own question with your previous message. Clutch didn't always require registration in order to read threads.

 

Same here. I was introduced in '98 when I was a freshmen in high school. Lurked until I was forced to register in 2001 in order to read the board. Since I had to register, I started posting soon after.

 

Been a fan since 86. Discovered the site around 97 or so while at work. I broke the Shandon Anderson signing about 4 hours before any news outlets had it. I titled it Shandon Anderson signing and then put "I predict he will sign today" without citing a source. Well, my friends, it got ugly from there. I got bashed and bashed back until the signing went down and then it was cool. Ah, good times.

 

Nice to see that not much has changed on the board even with the large influx of new members.

you can just look at the dates people registered by their moniker.

Maybe a better question would be did Yao bring you to CF.net?

 

I first came to the site in 1999 but I never actually registered for the bbs..

I remember what year it was because it was the first time I hooked up the internet with my Dreamcast and wanted to just look for Rockets stuff

 

I have been going here as long as I can remember but I only registered when they made me after we got the #1 pick. There's lots of summer '02 members.

I got here btw, I think by typing in "KISS Asylum" or something IIRC. Found it in the browser cache on a computer in my college library in '96...

Discovered the site during the Yao rush when I became a "reborn" Rockets fan. I first started getting into the Rockets in 92-93, as a wee young tike of age 7 (I remember getting the Midland Reporter Telegram newspaper every morning and searching the TV schedule to see if a game was being played that day, then reading the comics and eating my waffles before going to school ).

Moved the New Orleans during high school and was unable to follow once they stopped airing on Fox Sports Southwest so I kind fell out of it. Moved to Houston the year Yao was drafted and have refound my Rockets passion!

It used to be hosted on Clutch's college web space, right? Not for long, as I recall. But it's been so long, it's all a bit fuzzy now.
