I totally heard it! I thought for sure Matt would laugh, correct him or take a shot at Bill. Hilarious
I heard it, and I had to rewind to make sure. I think it was just an inadvertent slip up. Dude is getting up there.
lol yes i heard it too, i thought it was a mistake but he didnt say his name again and matt didnt say anything......maybe it was a bet between them to call tracy stacy on TV ahahha
It will not be his first or last......Could Harry Carey type of speech be far behind? It was still funny......and it does show that they say that behind he mic.....or off camera.... DD
Yes, and it was great! Perhaps he is getting old or perhaps it was a slip, Bullard didn’t laugh or anything; maybe that’s how the staff refers to Tracy now.
I guess. Stacey Arceneaux 1962-1962 Stacey Augmon 1992-2006 Stacey King 1990-1997 Stacey Dales 2002-2007 (WNBA) Stacey Ford 2001-2002 (WNBA) Stacey Lovelace 2000-2008 (WNBA) Stacey Thomas 2000-2005 (WNBA) Stacy Clinesmith 2000-2002 (WNBA) Stacy Frese 2000-2000 (WNBA) Stacy Stephens 2004-2004 (WNBA) Tracy Jackson 1982-1984 Tracy McGrady 1998-2009 Tracy Moore 1992-1997 Tracy Murray 1993-2004 Tracy Henderson 1999-2003 (WNBA) Tracy Reid 1998-2003 (WNBA)
Wait, are you SERIOUSLY trying to say that Stacy is not predominatly a female name? Honestly? That is what you are saying? Fine, if that is what you believe, but finding a few people named Stacy is hardly indicative of the percentages of females to males named Stacy.... Link to Stacy as a name It's a girl! Based on popular usage, it is 6.320 times more common for Stacy to be a girl's name. Come on Durv......you are reaching..... DD
Hmmm .. from babynameshub.com, since 1880 19.3% of all Tracy's were boys. 11.2% of all Stacy's were boys. 7.8% of Stacey's were boys.
No, those NBA/WNBA names were in agreement with what you said. "I guess you're right" is what I meant. Though Tracy is primarily a girl's name as well.
Sorry, I completely misinterpeted you....I still don't think it is any big deal......Bill just screwed up, but it does show that they say it off camera....though. DD
not to bring anyone down but the last time i heard tracy was a girl name but in all that was pretty funny
I find that hard to believe. You don't say things like "Stacy's knee" by accident. Especially when you're a professional commentator and fully aware that you are live on TV. It seemed a lot more to me that he felt he could take a quick dig at the end of an unimportant preseason game since it would be much easier to get away with. I really thought Bill Worrell was classier than that. It's disappointing.
I actually thought I might have misheard, but I posted it on my facebook anyway. It turns on out I was right.
Bill is just getting old. Ain't the first time he messed up somebody's name. Pretty fun though. What is so hard to believe about that? Did Tracy not have a bad knee? Does Stacy not rhyme with Tracy? Like Stacy, Tracy can be a girls name also. Its not that far fetched for him to say that by accident. I don't think Bill meant it in the way everyone thinks he is. He is a grown ass man. The only people that refer to Tracy as Stacy are kids under 18 or people that need to grow up. He's a professional working commentator for the NBA, not some snot nosed computer nerd posting behind a screen.
Agreed, it has been amusing to read posts in the thread putting all this deeper meaning into this flub
