i like rondo but since this team shoots so many threes he would be wasting his career in houston. dont need a superstar pg, just one that can run a good offense, play d and make three. as long as he doesnt re-sign with dallas he's cool.

"ok?" We did great! Brewer is the exact slasher type player we need. He plays off the ball, knows when to make the right pass, and plays tough nosed defense every possession. Hope he is retire rocket in end.

Rondo chose Dallas. There is no conversation here. Move along.

Brewer 3pt% before the trade: 19.5%
Brewer 3pt% after the trade: 44.7%

Morey and McHale gambled that Brewer would do better under a winning system. You think their bet has paid off so far?

Rondo would have been good. But Brewer has been spectacular for the team. And it cost the Rockets Daniels, some of the Lin trade exception, and change.

    This. Definitely this.

Having a good basketball team is a lot more than just having the most talented players on the same roster. Even though the Rockets need a PG, Rondo would not have been a very good fit here. In Dallas, even though they had to sacrifice some depth, he is a pretty good fit there.

On a team that shoots the most 3's in the NBA it's a no-brainer.

Brewer has won over the Houston fans so far. Nobody is crying over Rondo

    Next thread..

You don't watch much ball eh? Mavs have no impressive western conference wins since getting Rondo or prior... NOT ONE.. Brewer has been a great fit... Nothing about what Rondo brings fits well here...

Just wanted to bump this thread. Not for Rondo whatsoever but man I am loving what Brewer has brought to this team. Quickly rising on my list of favorite players on the Rockets. Him in transition is so damn fun and him and Ariza flying into every passing lane gives us a dimension we haven't had in a long time.

It's hard to compare the two. The Brewer trade cost very little other than a player hardly in the rotation and some 2nd round picks(which the Rockets already have plenty of). A deal for Rondo would've required sending more than that to the Celtics.

Also, Brewer fits in perfectly with the Rockets offense. He can hit that corner 3 consistently and he's very good at finishing on the break(or making free throws if fouled). Rondo is a great passer, but a horrible shooter.

Personally I think Brewer was the right move. There are still plenty of PGs out there and most of them are better shooters than Rondo.

I liked this pick up when it happened and I LOVE it now. He brings it every night off the bench and we sorely needed that.

Also he appears to have leached Ariza's shooting ability. Why could he have gone all vampiric on Korver or someone?

Rondo may be the one shooter worse than Josh Smith.
