Well that is pretty much what a good distributor does :p Rafer runs the fast break better than James or Francis, has less turn overs and more assists and doesn't tend to shoot unless he is wide open. He is absolutely horrible at driving and creating a shot, but I think Adelman is smart enough to design the offense so he rarely gets stuck having to do that. I mean I'd love to have Steve Nash or someone else who can do it all, but the reality is that all 3 of our vetran PG's have flaws. There is a reason Francis and James were not starting for the lottery teams they were playing for last year.

Hell yah we improved. If Rafer played only 20 mins. vs. 40 mins. last year he looks a lot better. With Mike James coming off the bench we are a lot better there. I can see Scola comming off the bench as well helping provide a scoring punch, along with a motivated Bonzi. We are a lot better!

If all you say is true and we didn't get much better, we still won 50+ games last year, which is pretty good.

We have a two year sample of Rafer's performance. Not going to get it. If he is still our third scoring option, the Rockets are in deep trouble. Fortunately, I don't think he is. If Rafer logs the majority of minutes at PG, I tell you with confidence, another first round exit. I predict that Rafer will be on the bench within the first month of the season. (Hopefully) Name a serious contender that has a starting PG who can't shoot, can't defend, and can't finish at the rim.

Well first of all, had we gotten out of the first round last season we'd have went AT LEAST to the Western Conference Finals. We'd have rolled over Golden State as easily as Utah did. San Antonio would have most likely beat us in 4-6 games, but being as the Western Conference Finals are the real Finals and the actual Finals are a joke, that wouldn't be so bad.

Second, to say we haven't improved at point guard is absolutely ridiculous. Even if Rafer starts the whole season, he has James, Francis and Brooks to back him up this season - rather than John Lucas III and the Greek T-Mac. Depth is important.

So yeah, we improved at both point guard and power forward - and our depth at shooting guard/small forward improved too with the return of a fit Bonzi Wells.

We're vastly improved and I expect nothing less than the Western Conference Finals this year.

We upgraded with the addition of three players.

Bonzi Wells (actually playing this year)
    Luis Scola
    and MIKE JAMES

i still feel like we need a Jerry Stackhouse or James Posey type player, someone who can shoot the 3 and also attack the rim. i wish we couldve signed Eddie Jones. then i'd feel much more comfortable about this team.

i doubt Francis will pan out, so hopefully he demands a trade and we get something of quality in return.
