I agree, but a player will never admit they stayed because of money.

And players are lining up to play with serious and fierce competitor Kobe Bryant!!!

Free-agent dithering? Yeah, (we can) blame your own network. There was no waffling or indecisiveness. He made a decision, stuck by that decision, got on a plane to fly to LA to meet face to face and that was it.

Thanks to Clutchfans' own HMMHMM! ;)

Wrong coach - who is our coach because he was a star player.

So because LeBron and Melo didn't want to come here we have the wrong stars...? Lol...

It might just be because we're in Texas.Texas is considered a football state. Besides Howard, I can't think of many elite players in their prime that came to Texas as a free agent (Houston/San Antonio/Dallas).

Pretty much. Already having two all-stars and still not being able to get out of the first round is just bad optics. On the outside, it could be a red flag to free agents. Could you imagine if we're 1 and done again next year? Ouch.

If we lost to Spurs in 7 in playoffs, we are just one piece away from serious contender, the stars may line up.

With all the cards in hand, we were first round exit, its a showcase of Houston holes by Mchale.

Not trying to defend the post, just concerned at the level of player that we've attracted this offseason and I think our guys have at least a role in that.

Wrong coach! Wrong GM! Wrong players! Wrong this! Wrong that!

    Wrong coach?

Who did the great Rick Adelman attract? Oh right, all his former Sacramento players! Bobby Jackson! Bonzi Wells! Brad Miller! Ron Artest! Kevin Martin!

HMMHMM is the reason we didn't get Bosh and Parsons is in Dallas. He best tread lightly for the rest of his days here.

Geez, this is a ****ed up topic on all levels.

We don't have a choice with elite free agents that we didn't originally draft.

It's understood that in "star" trades, the trading team will always get less than the player given away, so then ask yourself why would the original team pull a trade then? Could be damaged goods, could be personality, or money, but the bottomline point is that this mythical perfect Star isn't one you can choose from at a buffet line and it won't just jump out and land on your lap.

It's not a ****ing fantasy league where you get to choose from your two buddies which player you need.

Isn't that a problem with Houston as a location then? Better blow up the town then!

It's been season of these two guys together. It's way too early to start seeing threads like this. For all we know, Houston could make the WCF or further this year and be a hot spot for free agents a year from now.
