Surprised the girlfriend is putting up with him playing that much. It might be OK if they don't spend most of their time together, or he makes time for her. But if it gets more serious and they start spending most of their time together... I know I would get sick of watching someone do that all day.

Guys - playing this stuff does not increase your desirability to the opposite sex.

Is playing wow really any different than surfing clutchfans all day? Actually I'd say clutchfans could be worse as its seems people surf clutchfans at work, you can't play wow at work.

ouch... guilty as charged... I am at work and should be doing some.

clutchfans is better because at least you can read the threads, post, and leave for a while without losing any ground. (unless you're, ummm, certain people with huge post counts) Or even leave for a month or two and then come back. But enough; time to do some actual work.

the hours and lifestyle is totally foreign to me but i don't judge on that. i didn't go into all the details but he failed out of college the first time around, worked, went back and finished, went to law school, graduated last may and has only worked one job in jan/feb before he was let go. he's played video games for the last 10 years that i know of, is 31 and lives with my parents. i know he's been in school the last few years, but the last time he had a paying job for more than 2 months consencutively was in october 2001 when he was "let go" for whatever reason. what do you think?

he's a super bright guy and has all the potential in the world to be the president, but he has no will power and doesn't know when to stop. it's terrible just watching him sit there and waste his life away. my parents have lost all control and can't say/do anything to make him change. we're just waiting til he gets his act together and part of that is stopping the video games and getting and holding onto a job.

That sounds like some of the sentiments of my friends. Replace chess with Counterstrike.

    My generation FTW!

Your parents are the problem here. Their not forcing him to grow up and be responsible. Their letting him freeload off of them. And, now it appears he isn't even really trying because he can get away with it. While you all are waiting on him to get his act together, he's going to continue to freeload.

Well if you stay away from snorting or injecting it and just chasing the dragon, you should be fine.

Maybe he is depressed because he came to the conclusion that being a lawyer sucks?

It might be fun to play 'hide the computer' for a couple of days.
Act like it got stolen or a got a virus (remove the hard drive).

JW, can u block ports on WoW in the router configuration? Only problem is he's smart to go to the router itself to reset it...

Also, he played from like I got home last night at 6:45 to at least 3:30 in the morning...

What's his character name? I'll go in there and kill him. lol.

Eat this, you dwarf rat troll hybrid dragon thingie!!!

Whatever. I've never played this game and never will. According to Cartman from SP, I won't have enough experience points to inflict any damage anyway...unless I go somewhere and kill a bunch of critters or something. lol

tell him to /quit at life, so you can get the life insurance, cuz that's about all he's worth now.

Don't tell him you know...just hint around with questions and see if he comes clean...if he doesn't, just ask him...He probably got severed which pays him or a little while...you do have to get him out though...good luck...

well i bet his girlfriend already told me that I figured out the puzzle when i confronted her but wouldn't give me answer. She just told me to talk to him. I kinda wish he would tell me cleanly whats going on.

I would call the company. Always find a way to sneak behind someones back and avoid conflict, it's the best policy. :)

If you won't confront him in the real world, then get in the game and confront him. It's all he may understand at this point. He seems to be spending more time in that world than this world. That boy ain't right!

I'd bet money this is what happened.

The guy is depressed about his life, love, or work.. and he's escaping that by using the game.

    Happens all the time.
