So what happens if Beverly goes down with injuries? Or Brooks? Who is good enough to fill their shoes when one of them gets injured? When Beverly missed several games because of injuries I was glad to have two excellent PGs in Lin and Brooks to take his place. And they both did a great job filling in for PatB. Without LIn we would have lost those games when Bev was out.

You're an idiot if you think Lin doesn't matter to this team.

No your one of the people who hate on his shooting, when Harden shoots worst for two years. Your one of the ones who hate on his D when Hardens is way worse. Your one of the ones who hate on his turnovers when Harden leads the League. You hate on his mobility, when Harden moves the least in the NBA. Simple....your a hypocrite with an "AGENDA" LOL

Is Lin needed on the team? Yes, in the sense that he greatly helps us out. Thankfully, we are deep enough where we won't miss Lin too much being gone in the short run, which is a testament to Morey. Only an idiot wouldn't miss having a PG who can go off for 20-30 points when hot on the bench... well idiots and fake Rockets fans

I think Lin would have been very handy in the Suns and Jazz game.

Harden and Lin are not comparable.

They are ball dominant gaurds and slashers. They are plenty comparable.

With the huge exception that one is arguably a superstar and best SG in the game, whereas Jeremy Lin is no where close in talent and not even in top 10 among PG's. That is like saying that Parsons is comparable to Lebron James because they both play D and have an all-around game right?

They are the same type of player. If Harden willing to accept his SG role, then the issue is resolved.

Yes, Parson and Lebron are also comparable. Comparison does not mean equivalence. Do you understand english?

Let's face it, if Harden wasn't hogging the ball so much and McHale wasn't so inept, Parsons would be just as good as Lebron.

    Face the truth.
Once Lin leave Rockets at the end of next year, will at least 2/3 spot lights gone gone gone.
you rockets fans should appreciate this 8.3 mil marketing machine.

I don't understand what exactly we will be missing as fans other than his play on the court. Games won't stop happening, The Rockets will still be on tv and as long as H&H are healthy and Morey keeps doing his thing the team will still be very good.

Les is about the only person who should care about this marketing machine, which I still haven't seen a good explanation as to why exactly it's so valuable to The Rockets exclusively. His global popularity is good for the league, but I don't think the Rockets alone really reap any extreme benefits from him.

I do agree with you clutch on this, yes do to our deep bench specially on the pg position we can get away without lin for a few games...

but I think that is not what the OP insinuating... it is that do not we need lin at all...

In 82 games with or without lin will be a difference of 4-5 wins... that is a difference of 50 wins vs 55 wins and if we are vying for home court advantage come playoffs, these wins will be crucial...

There is only a problem if you are a Jeremy Lin fan. I don't mind Harden playing PG because Lin is just another player whereas Harden is our star and that is the game he plays. That said, I don't like it when that is all he does. I would love to see far more slashing and off the ball movement.
