Sanders has talent and skill. big sleeper in the draft. Think he'll be better than most pple think and I believe he's better than that guy the GSWs picked 6th, Udoh. but yeah it is still to early to tell. he does look skinner than I thought he was though.

Yes! The Rockets made a mistake by picking the player they liked more over the player you liked more!

    1. Its only the summer league blah blah blah. Remember Landry's summer league? How about Greene's?

    2. Sanders is way too skinny to be a center. Although he has the dimensions of cousins, he doesn't have the bulk to be a good C in the league (see Jordan Hill). Maybe that will change over time, we'll see.

    3. Even if we had Larry Sanders, LS would still have trouble getting PT, not unless you think he's good enough to beat out Luis Scola for PT, who's slated to play 30 mins a game.

    4. As far as Yao Ming is concerned, PP's ability to hit the mid-range shot has better value than Sanders' all around play. Sanders is looking like a legit 4, however when you have a space clogger like Yao Ming you need a versatile scorer like Scola or PP than a low post banger like Sanders or Al J.

    5. It's should have not should of, and could have not could of. I know its starting to become slang, however think about what you're saying, what the hell does "could of" or "should of" even mean? Grammar definitely needs work.

Larry Sanders is a freak athlete. He is 6'10" with a 7'7" wingspan. I watched him play this weekend and he is really pretty good. Whether he is better than PP is anybody's guess at this point, IMO. Their styles are different.

p.s. They could have used could've and would've. I don't know whether that is 'righter' though.

    1) It's summer league, but the rebounding usually translates better than other stats. It's all about effort and length.

    2) If Sanders puts on 20 lbs, he'll be 242 lbs. That's in the same weight class as centers(healthier), Camby, Noah, Horford, and Duncan. It puts him out of the "injured for 20-60 every season, or requires surgery every other year" weight class of Yao, Oden, Curry, Bynum, and Perkins.

    3) They are so desperate for backup C. They are trying to move Hill to C from PF. Sanders would play at C. Brad Miller is a stop gap measure for 2 years. Yao Ming may be recovering from another surgery or retired in a few years.

    4) Yao Ming is constantly injured. We need a back up C to cut down his minutes. Yao will retire eventually, and Sanders can play C. Patterson is too short and doesn't provide enough rebounding, shotblocking and interior defense at C. If Yao played 82/games a season in 35+ minutes and Scola was out for a whole season and about to retire, Patterson would be a great choice. He would get plenty of playtime and start eventually.

It's another fail for the Rockets. They have to make do with no young C. We are left with an old center and an injury prone center, that will retire or go down with injury within the next 2 years.

Rockets will be fielding a 6'6" Hayes at C again, while Patterson rides pine behind Scola. Fans will be wondering, why the Rockets didn't pick up Sanders to be backup C instead of Hayes.

LOL dude are you serious? So you're saying the Rockets' entire season is doomed because DM chose PP over Sanders? Damn, you make Old Man Rock look like a hater.

    1. Sanders' build isn't meant to be a center. I know his weight is just 20 pounds shy of being a C, however his built or the frame of his body doesn't look like its meant to bang bodies in the paint. Demarcus Cousins' has the built or body frame to become a C. Sanders doesn't.

    2. The Rockets aren't that desperate for a backup C as you think, now that Brad Miller's signed for the next 3 years. Defensive/rebounding big men are a dime a dozen in the league, almost every team has one of those-in fact, Memphis has 3. However versatile scoring big men who aren't defensive or rebounding liabilities are much rarer. Someone like PP who is an asset off the court as well as on? Even rarer still. Sanders certainly has a lot going for him, and there's 90% chance he'll be better than Ekpe Odoh, but every single board out there had PP over Sanders for a reason.

DM himself said PP has the exact measurements of Al Horford, who is actually one of the better two-way big men in the league. PP's inside-outside game is already fairly polished, and thanks to playing with superior talent with John Wall and Cousins, he learned how to feed off his teammates and play within a system. Even if LS became the better player, I'd still have PP just because his skillset is so hard to find these days.
