I am speaking as if i were JVG about it. I dont mean thats was Tmac was thinking. I seriously doubt Tmac would refuse to go in. My bad for not making myself clear.

T-Mac was getting doubled the whole game. He produced decently, though the whole team was ice cold from the 3. He just couldn't be as productive as he normally is. Battier and Juwan were ice cold (JHo even bobbled two passes to him). Kirk's wrist is obviously not fully healed (despite not being injured, he still doesn't have his muscled trained back to their pre-injury condition). Hayes was par for the course (an offensive liability). Deke hit a hookshot. Rafer bricked a couple of times but was the only player on the team who could even hit a layup.

At some point, there was no reason to keep T-Mac in if the rest of the team couldn't step up. To quote Kobe Bryant, "Once in a while, I'll look at them in the middle of a game and say, 'I've been carrying you guys for the past five minutes. How about you guys join the party? Pull up a chair. They just smile. But that's when I tell them, 'C'mon, now. I'm serious. Let's go.'"

One man can't carry a team. It takes 5, baby.

And I noticed no such refusal or controversy on the Rockets' bench. Did anyone else who was there? I didn't think so.

I just watched some of the 3rd & 4th quarter again:
    - Snyder comes in for McGrady 23-25 seconds left in 3rd.
    - Beginning of 4th. Rockets down 19. Snyder still in (never comes back out), with Head. Rafer, Battier & Howard only starters still in game. (The score would only get WORSE, getting outscored 13-3)
    - Minute and a half into the 4th & no one's scored still. Head hit on the arm on the 3-point attempt, NO call. Foul called on other end on the Rockets.
    - McGrady with towel around his shoulders gets up from bench, walks 10 feet onto the cart and talks smack to referee Jack Nies. Gets T'ed up (LOL)

That's all I need to see. That does NOT look like a guy disinterested in the game. What a bunch of unsubstantiated sh*t from the Mavs forum.

What you really should have said is: T-Mac went off early, Avery adjusted accordingly defensively, and JVG had now clue how to counter. Once again letting himself be outcoached, and once again, costing the Rockets a winnable game.

Was the playoffs choke-job two years ago and all the games he's been outcoached since not enough? When will more people wake up and see this loser for what he is?

thanks, but I will stick with my original quote. Avery hasn't had to deal with the injury bug the way JVG has had to the past couple years, so I am not going to be a JVG basher in this game. I am not the biggest JVG supporter, but he's done fine for having the his previous number one option go down. Also, from looking at the stat sheet, it seems some players were just terribly off. Battier 1-9? head? snyder?

Yep, it was that bad coaching that caused Luther, Shane, Chucky and Kirk to shoot and pass like they had never seen a basketball before. It was bad coaching that left Yao and Bonzi on the bench and Snyder playing like he had been out for weeks. It was bad coaching that let two 34+ year olds get outplayed by 5+ 20-somethings. It was bad coaching that let those evil Mavericks stack their bench with players that are taller than ours. Damn that coach.

Wow. Great with the excuses. Can we change your tagline from "Rookie" to "JVG apologist"?

first it comes from mav forum
2nd, losing by 30 or winning by 30 all equals to tmac not playing knowing there is nothing to win but lots of risks

He didn't feel like coming back in tonight either. He's so unruly these days.

Well, JVG outcoached other coaches 32 times and got outcoached by other coaches 18 times this season. And you call that Mavs game "a winnable game"?

I agree about the injury part, but in the past T-Mac has sat in a blowout while Yao was out there until the last second of the game. Can't say that is all coaches decision.

    No biggie though.

Not being a rookie doesn't make your posts any better.

His being a rookie doesn't make his any worse either.
