No. We dodged the vaccine that would cure our disease.

But seriously, we can't really say. He could break down once again, or he could finally overcome the hindrances and have a great season.

I hope he does well, even if he is a bit of a dick.

I think the Rockets medical staff had full medical info on him, so if we still wanted him then they are not concerned by his condition.

Hard to tell. This was his first season where he played pretty much injury free in a while. If he manages to stay somewhat healthy its a loss for us. Possibly a huge loss. However, if he remains injury prone we dodged a bullet.

Bynum will likely hold up for 2-3 more years. Then he becomes an albatross contract that's basically unmovable.

We dodged A bullet. whether it be a bullet against us, or a bullet we could have used as ammunition...

It was already public knowledge that Bynum would have this procedure done, so the Rockets knew, FWIW.

You have a center that can put up 18/11 consistently and he's still young...but to me the big red flag is the number of injuries he has had to his knees.

He's so big and pushing 300 lbs. And with his history of injuries already at a young age....I would pass on making him the center piece of my franchise.

If we dodged a bullet it's about damn time. It seems like the Rockets have caught more bullets than Sonny Corleone in "The Godfather."

No. I think Bynum doesn't want to play for Philly so he will use this year to do this surgery. I do believe we sign him in the offseason AND have two top 10 picks. Talk about a change of fortune for us.

I would even put money on that statement!

Of course we did. The Rockets landed franchise savior Delfino instead. ;)

He would be leaving money on the table. I doubt Bynum is happening for the team anymore.

I had concerns about both Howard and Bynum; Howard's back and attitude and Bynum's knees and attitude. Great players but lots of baggage. Could have taken the Rocket's somewhere, but both represented considerable risk. Not really disappointed that we didn't get them.
