He didn't get nominated for MVP until the end of last season and he didn't have an extra 200 mill until the end of the season.. So right now he has not motivation or hunger... just playing for the fame or like lebron who has 2 rings... T_Man
How about head coach hold him accountable? Or GM hold him accountable? Or team owner hold him accountable? Or maybe his mom hold him accountable? Or just let him continue to do what's worked so poorly and wait until he's 33 years old, retired, and hanging out with Steve Francis at the club.
Of course, first he ruined Jeremy Lin. And then he proceeded to ruin James Harden. The next in line is Donatas Motiejunas. He ruins the Rockets even when he is gone. He is going to ruin the Rockets in the next 10 years.
That's why McHale always complained about "sticky ball". He was also thirsty for Mike Dunleavy. If you're adding Dunleavy to the team it's all about ball movement, backdoor cuts, and screens.
More like, crap ton of money on a young gun ruined him. Kids like Harden that came from nothing, strive to get rich. He got his and now he can do anything he wants.
You play a system that fits your players, you don't just try to copy a team that is successful. Both the Spurs and Warriors have the personel that lend itself to playing the way they do. The 2012 NBA finals was the all-time iso heavy matchup with Durant,Westbrook and Harden vs Lebron and Wade. Since Miami won the 2012 title and OKC was runner-up while both playing lots of iso, did you think that every other team in the league should have tried to copy them and start playing lots of iso too? How many times per game do you really think Harden runs iso? Would you be surprised that Harden runs iso on 7.8 possessions/game? On those possessions he scores 0.96 pts per possession, which is good and that doesn't even include the assists he generates off iso possessions. So, you're complaining about something that we run less than 8% of the time and that's producing at 0.96 ppp? That's what you've identified as a major weakness? Since you've mentioned it twice, I'll assume that you believe that Harden dribble the ball a lot. The NBA tracks both the average time of possession per touch as well as the average number of dribbles per touch. Let's see where Harden ranks compared to other ball handlers: Avg Seconds per Touch -------------------------------- R. Jackson 6.03, C. Paul 5.51, R. Westbrook 5.47, D.Lillard 5.47 , B. Jennings 5.38, R. Rubio 5.27, K. Walker 5.05, T. Parker 5.05, Z. LaVine 5.01, M. Conley 4.99, J. Nelson 4.87, M. Chalmers 4.48, K. Irving 4.82, D. Schroeder 4.76, J. Jack 4.75, E. Mudiay 4.75, G. Dragic 4.74, R. Rondo 4.72, M. Carter-Williams 4.7, J. Teague 4.6, D. Russell 4.6, D.Rose 4.56, T. Evans 4.56, Harden 4.5 How about average number of dribbles per touch? Avg Dribbles per Touch ------------------------- R. Jackson 6.27, B. Jennings 5.98, T. Parker 5.59, C. Paul 5.57, R. Westbrook 5.47, D. Lillard 5.39, K. Walker 5.18, J. Nelson 5.09, M. Conley 5.06, M. Chalmers 5.06, G. Dragic 5.01, J. Teague 4.91, K. Irving 4.85, Z. Lavine 4.71, D. Schroeder 4.7, R. Rondo 4.69, J. Jack 4.65, E. Mudiay 4.58, I. Thomas 4.33, D. Rose 4.31, M. Carter-Williams 4.24, D. Russell 4.23, T. Evans 4.22, T. Lawson 4.18, J. Wall 4.16, G. Hill 4.15, D. Williams 4.12, K. Hinrich 4.09, D. Holiday 3.9, K. Lowry 3.87, J. Harden 3.81 Harden's not even in the top half of the league's ball handlers for either category. Did you not watch Harden play in OKC? He's always been a great iso guy. It's not like he changed his game when he came to Houston and started playing for McHale. Oh, you're also going to use the ever popular "Harden holds the ball and passes with 2 seconds left on the clock for a contested 3" ? In reality we take exactly two 3 pointers per game with less than 4 seconds left on the clock. So if every one of those 3's came off a pass from Harden then it's at most twice per game. We hit 25% of those late 3 pointers. If we instead shot those same two shots at the same percentage that we shoot uncontested 3 pointers (34.8%), then that would make a difference of 0.5 pts per game. So again, you're focusing on something that worst case costs us a half point per game? Huh? You think he played badly in the 2014 World Games (not Olympics)? He was the leading scorer on the team, second in assists, shot 52% from the floor, 41% from the 3pt line and a TS% of 66.3. That's "scrubby" to you? Why are you focusing on things that either don't really happen or happen so infrequently that they are inconsequential? There's lots of things that we can improve, maybe you should concentrate on those things rather than manufacturing issues.
Sadly this is the kind of stuff that gets you called a no knowledge, stats only and stat cherry picking, delusional homer. "If you ever played the game then your eye is all you need" and what not though
I would trade TJones/Brewer for a player that can rebound and make shots close to the rim CONSISTENTLY! Heck all we need is someone that can CONSISTENTLY SCORE 5-10 points per GAME (not every 3 games or whatever) and can grab 5-10 rebounds. I know it sounds crazy but look at how many games we loose by a handfull of points due to no consistency other than Harden or Howard scoring and/or grabbing rebounds. Oh and someone that can hit free throws!
Jonathan FeigenVerified account @Jonathan_Feigen Rockets did not even bring up Harden's final shot in their complaints. Wizards did. Dudley said he fouled Harden on his final drive.
What number is he in assist/TO ratio? What's the team's assist to shot made ratio? Both are probably at near bottom of the league. It's easy to get cheap assists. Hold the ball for as long as you can and pass it to someone w/ 2 seconds to go. If they make the shot, you get an assist.
So much truth in this post. Some of us knew that McHale was a crap hire on day one. We are left with the remnants of an undisciplined team, because of how he and Morey run it. DD
Morey ruined him. Harden is talking that nonsense bs. Our 3s aren't falling so we folded. Coin flip loss
