Does he deserve it? No. Will it happen? Yes. But the good ones, the ones that last, learn quickly. It could be worse...a whole lot worse. Ever been to the ESPN boards?
Oh I know it will happen. Just like posting mistakes will happen. Its best for all members to take it all in stride and not make personal attacks for any reason. Unless they insult your mother. =) Cant say I have been to ESPNs boards. Im not a big BBSer. Although my wife does say Im a good BSer. Whatever that means.
codell, The major issue about repeat, misplaced & duplicate threads is that it pushes other worthy threads off the first page listing the most recent threads. If all members were diligent about looking at all thread listings since the last time they viewed the BBS, then it wouldn't be a problem. Since some people check only the initial page and don't find the topic they are interested in, they start a thread that has already been done, but is perhaps two to three pages back in the thread listings. This pushes all other threads downward and possibly pushes a topic/thread off the first page that another member would have read if he/she was aware of it.
I agree. But its the nature of a BBS. Plus alot of threads start with one topic and end in another. Im not saying its acceptable, but its not worth getting upset over cause it will always happen in this BBS and any other.
Some friction is inevitable with the influx of newbies. IMO, all the so-called "BBS Nazis" are trying to do is maintain the quality of the boards. When you have 100 new members each month, 99 of whom do not read the boards for a while to absorb the rules and culture before posting, it's too big of a job for the moderators, so the senior members have stepped in. If they didn't try to preserve the culture of clutchcity.net, these boards would soon degenerate into espn status, and none of us would have anywhere to go and read about the Rockets. So if you get your feelings hurt, don't whine about it because that isn't going to get you any respect either. The moderators will generally protect you from unwarranted and unsolicited personal abuse by banning the offending parties, but if you don't put a modicum of thought and effort into writing your posts, then you will get called on it.
There are words of wisdom that someone shared with me a long time ago that I don't mind sharing with you guys here. "No one cares who you are. If you want respect, you gotta give it first. " Take that as you will and with a grain of salt for some of you. I regretfully started this mess very early on within this thread. I did not do it for the sake of BUBS or "newbies". I did it out of respect for people in general who are on this board. I love the BBS and it has become daily reading for me. But it detracts from my enjoyment when I see people being rude, smart allecky, and inconsiderate. But hey, life goes on and I'm not going to allow some stupid moment to ruin my day, week, year, or life. No offense to anybody here but the next time some jerk goes off, you will hear from me again and then I'll enjoy the rest of my day.
My God some of you "seniors" are absolute losers. THis is a mesage board, you take it too serious. If you don't like the thread, simply move on. Get a life
I have been in my share of heated dicussion but I never thought that I would see this level of degredation on this board. The only one that I have stuck to for just this reason, remember all of you no one except the Clutch Crew can actually claim ownership of this board the rest need to mellow out some. Granted, I have not been here that long myself I still feel that I speak for more than myself when I say this.

Some of the people who started this ridiculous thread knew after some of my original posts were deleted. Obviously, some didn't, but it was a root cause....I digress and apologize though...this is a basketball forum and should stay that way. Strike what i said from the record.
Htownhero, I've been checking out this site since the dot com days boy. I don't recall ever reading a good basketball take from you though. do you rack up your post count in the sim leagues? CuttinoRules should not have done that but try not to be a follower and get cute with him because you think other nerds on here will think your funny or clever for it. Just speak to him like your face to face with him on the street and let him know how you and your internet buds feel about pointless mutlipe threads. Do that and the topic will not survive the hour. Don't do that and you end up giving that topic 10 times more replies than it needs. and i enjoy reading codell and Bubs basketball takes. But hey that doesnt mean I shallowly like them, like you do Refman and RcCola, and then shallowly dislike another because he/she has different takes that dont agree with me and my collection of onlne personalities.
Oh geez...and just when I thought this thread was done. Let me be the first to say that I HAVE seen good basketball takes from Htownhero, so you can stop worrying, Texas Stoke. I think the post was something like "Get riddy of Rudy"... or something like that.
