I have to admit, I laughed at the Arod 7th inning and the slutty flight attendant jokes As someone who doesn't keep track of Palin's daily itinerary, the "daughter" that first came to mind when I heard the joke was obviously the one who got pregnant. I believe the show made an honest mistake, and Letterman could've apologised for that, but he obviously doesn't care, this is just generating him free publicity. This is a show thrives on feuds (McCain, Oprah, Madonna, Cher).
Yep. Obama is protected from jokes because he is black. Palin should be protected on the sex front. Fair is fair. Their records and policies are fair game. As we always say about the NBA referees, just call it the same on both ends of the floor. Right? But leave the children alone.
Ok as long as you admit to being pro political correctness that's fine. I don't mind jokes about Barack that aren't policy related such as about his ears, or the way he dressed in the 80's. Jokes about his race, have nothing to do with political correctness are racist. I'm against political correctness, as well as being against racism. I'm against sexism as well.
The guy who made the jokes about Palin's daughters has admitted that they crossed the line. Why act like people are actually defending the jokes? I think all anyone is doing is trying to not let it be blown out of proportion by pretending they were about the 14yr old instead of the 18yr old.
The whole problem with it is not that they even gave her a sexist jab (slutty) it was the attack on her kids. I have not heard or seen any attacks on BHO's kids.
I was replying to the sexism remark that Thumbs made. BHO's underage kids were left out of the campaign and aren't going around speaking on behalf of Obama. Palin's 18 year old kid is doing that for Palin, and thus they are not the same.
It wasn't funny when people made fun of Chelsea Clinton, and it isn't funny now. Maybe, if we as a society weren't do f'd in the head about what is funny, things like this wouldn't happen.

She made herself a public figure, and was outspoken on the issue of sex and sex education and is definitely game for sexual remarks. Absolutely. But unlike you, I'm not a fan of political correctness.

Clothes and ears and hair are not in the realm of political correctness. Actually, agree with you. I don't like the PC box in which we live, but, as long as we do, the rules must apply to all and equally.
It's not that she deserved to, but by making herself a public figure, and seeking out media attention and interviews, she is fair game. Whether she or anyone else deserves to be attacked is a separate question. Letterman himself isn't defending the joke.
