Right on. Dallas is much cleaner and a better looking city than Houston. As far as the populace, Dallas is home to the $30K/yr. millionaires club. To be considered a part of this, one must purchase a 3-series BMW, buy clothes from Banana Republic with their credit card, hang out in Addison, and eat at PF Chang's.
Yeah, but UTD isn't even in Dallas. If anything, being in the northern suburbs is a little worse in terms of local flavor, largely because the area didn't really start to grow until the 1980s when the trend toward chain restaurants, stores and whatnot started to dominate the American landscape. So, Richardson/Plano/Allen/Frisco/McKinney, etc., while having some level of locally-owned offerings, is probably more chain-dominated than some other parts of the Metroplex.
Been there.....and they're both excellent. Had GREAT sushi in Vancouver too. But this place my buddy took me to in Dallas was unreal. I couldn't believe how good it was. And trust me......it pains me no end to say anything good about Dallas.
Well, here we are. Checked out of the hotel. Got meetings until around 3PM when I can get my butt over to Love Field and wait standby to see if I can get on an earlier shuttle back to H-town. Went out last night with a high school friend who just moved here from Seattle. Got lost looking for a beer store, so we went to a sports bar to watch the VT-A&M game. Needless to say, I will be very very happy when we land at Hobby!
