I think this is actually true because they did end up drafting a PG who was slated all throughout the draft to go in the first.
It seems like in every draft in recent years there's a bonafide stud PG. In this draft either Burker or Carter-Williams have often been projected to be that guy. Did Morey say this draft was deep at PG? I do remember that he thought or hoped the PGs would slide which suggests the Rockets had them higher on their own draft board?
It probably was just a consideration on Morey's part. It instantly clears all the cap space we need and gets us a young pg that could be good. Personally I think Lin will be better but Burke wouldn't start anyway. That job would go to Beverly. So it's not a bad deal really. You get trey and space for DHoward plus an extra 3-4 mil to sign Garcia back. I'm glad it didn't happen if true. I like Canaan better than Burke. And we still get to keep lin. I am still hopeful the Lakers will do a sign and trade for Garcia and draft pick. I think they might. I mean they get a giant exception if they do and a first round pick and Garcia. All good options. And they get to keep their MLE instead of wasting on signing Garcia. By doing that if I understand corectly we get to keep our MLE and all of our guys. No deleting players to make space for Howard.
