I have no idea, but it seems very very unlikely that the Rockets would do anything to add salary. The only other first rounders we heard about them being involved with were international stash players.

Why not? That's a trade for a starting point guard, since they would have had to give up a significant piece or two for him.

Of course lol, but i meant I had not seen any mention of the Rockets going after Burke.

I would have, he may have been the best player in that draft. Lots of good PGs in the draft last week.

I would venture it was Robinson and Lin and future draft picks for Burke

If Utah has cap room would have help free up space for dwight will getting a top caliber PG.

I am sure the rival GM that said they were offered lin was probably utah

I am glad the Rockets didn't get him. I think Trey will be a good guard in this league, along the lines of Mike Conley. But for this team Canaan is the better fit. He shoots lights out. And thats what you need. Plus while overall burke's numbers are better, not a lot better. He is not the clutch player that Canaan is. Just watching in the Ncaa tourney made me think I did not want to move up to get him. Not saying Canaan is better , just saying Cannan is better in the clutch and a better shooter. And the Rockets need that more than Burke's all around game. Run the court, finish well and pass it into Howard. Oh and be clutch down the stretch. That's the one thing Morey's analytics miss when drafting. Stats don't measure ice in the vein attitude very well.

That makes a lot of sense. And a smart move for the Rocket becaus of the cap space it clears. And gets a guard who will probably be better than Lin. I am so glad it didn't work out. We got so much more for TRob and I really like Canaan.

May be true, may even be factual - - but without any details of what a deal might have looked like then what is the discussion?

His name sounds like a bust. He might turn out to be good though.

The announcers could say Trey for trey every time be takes a three.
