Maybe Kobe Bryant would've had more MVPs in his 20s if he was Nike in the beginning, Kobe was with Adidas in his 20s When he came to Nike maybe he was declining, it was up and down, year to year.
Most Talked about in ESPN Media Kevin Durant - Nike LeBron James - Nike Giannis - Nike Not much talked about James Harden - Adidas Talked about occasionally, as a cheater, boring, Historic nah just ignore Curry - Under Armour Kawhi - New Balance Chris Paul - Jordan
Wow just wow. There really no words that can describe the season that he had, I think "legendary" is an understatement. I know we have talked about it multiple times, but it is an absolute debacle that giannis will get the mvp. People will look back at this season and regret giving it to him.
I mean, REALLY. In what world does one achieve such a record in a class by HIMSELF and NOT get the MVP? Would truly be seen as an NBA scandal
Someone said it but I'm glad Harden has the mental strength to ignore the haters. I'm sure he uses the hate as fuel. He's gotten more and more hate each season, and he's gotten better and better each season. I wonder what stats he'll put up next year after he gets another MVP stolen from him... The only thing keeping me from losing my mind is the fact that I'm really confident in our chances to win it all this year.
One would think the NBA would have this all over their NBA home page and broadcasting it 24/7. ESPECIALLY if he ends up standing alone in the 2,800 club. An achievement like this is good for the game and the league. But why are we not hearing any fanfare from the league?
I dont about "quietly", hes been making LOUD NOISES all year, he just shut up the Harden Haters that dont want to talk about his accolades and numbers.
Meh. Compared to what he's achieved this season, it's just a random set of numbers. If you visit a Bucks board, they have some random number Giannis has eclipsed involving points, rebounds, assists and blocks. It's just such a boring achievement in comparison with the records he's breaking that are standardized barometers of success.
2832 is Kobe's number. Harden would need 53 to tie that on Tuesday. Unlikely to happen but never count him out!
I somewhat agree with you. This is kind of like the triple double thing. It's just an arbitrary standard. I'd rather they show something like Harden's points generated (points + assist) is among the all time tops.
I say 'quietly' because the media doesn't seem to be talking about it at all. It's gone largely unnoticed by the general public
Kobe was never really in the MVP conversation except for the year he won MVP. Even that year, I think Paul was as deserving if not more deserving, because he had similar stats, and led a less talented team to virtually the same record. Kobe only finished runner up once in 2009, when Lebron had his best regular season in my option and won MVP by a very clear edge. Kobe's regular season performance is not nearly as good as Harden's. Hardens' MVP share per year is No. 4 all time just behind MJ, Lebron and Brid, and he will surpass Bird after this season.
