    Dunno , don't care .

Winning in the playoffs is all that matters . And it's looking like we are not going to go in with very good momentum .

If the organization has let the MVP debate influence what our season-long approach has been then it's a massive failure.

James is clearly playing through injury . Why he is escapes me.

I'm losing faith in Dantoni rapidly ; both from his rotations and his "adjustments"

If we get knocked out it round 1 we should fire him . That means he let a team with WCF implode either through poor management or poor strategy ( in playoffs)

I hate to be this doom and gloom , and I wouldn't be . But when you have an MVP caliber player you can go far, to me the coaching staff is making mistakes right now ...which is an awful time to be ****ing up .

    No,

obviously Harden turned over the MVP trophy to Westbrook long time ago.

Did Lillard just steal the MVP from Westbrook?

No, only in the minds of knee-jerk voters. No one loses or wins the MVP on one game. Anyone who thinks that way should have their vote & voting privileges revoked.

    Harden is MVP!
Wait, Kawhi just blocked a shot & hit a three! He's the new MVP favorite!
But here comes Russell with another triple-double & comeback over a lottery team. He's my MVP now!

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: Not enough eye-rolls for suck thinking.

This is the result of Morey and MDA babysitting James. Tell him to stop with the pull-up 3s 'cause you're just not good at it. Diversify your offense other than 'drives or 3s', and stop being so dogmatic about 'no mid-range' rule. Of course, this has to start with Morey & MDA, which is the problem.

Yes, clearly-- and he should be traded for young players and picks while he still has value.

    Sick of only mvp talk.

Firing D'antoni after 1 year would be stupid. Who else is out there that u would hire if D'antoni is let go?

Harden hasn't proven to be a clutch player in high pressure playoff like games. He still plays hero ball and ends up making dumb turnovers... Sigh...same old Harden during pressure games. I know how the playoffs will be with this turnover machine.

Is this a Rockets fan forum or MVP fan forum??

Most of the discussion here seems to revolve around the MVP award.

It is not as bad as folks like EGo, Louis and others have a good shooting night.

But most likely a problem with hero ball, high TO rate in the 3rd and 4th and bad shot selection, dribbling down the clock for 15 seconds.

They need to go to the big guy more.

You came back at the right moment - MVP should be up in a couple weeks.

Harden needs to make sure that his wrist is right. If that means sitting out a couple of games then so be it. We're not going far in the playoffs with the version of Harden that we've seen the last 2 games. His 3 point shooting has looked hopeless the last 2 games, and he has not been good at the rim either. Harden playing like this is what could get us knocked out of the 1st round.

Nope, but if we're going to end the season with just 4/5 W's over the Thunder i think Westbrick wins it 100%

I dunno . But if the goal is a chip then you need a championship caliber coach .

If dantoni gets knocked out in the first round , then he's proven he can't take the club to the next level .

If we make it to the second round then I prolly wouldn't want him gone .

D'antonio's value seems to be in his system . But a great coach can find a way to tailor that system to individual players strengths . Ours is too inflexible .

Live and die by the three is a saying that is usually an exaggeration ... For us it's not . Because we don't have any other options .

Morey gave him literally the ideal roster for his offense . Shooters galore , but now that teams have figured out some weaknesses we are too one dimensional ... Blame for this is on Mike . Because he won't ****ing play the players we have that aren't fits for his offense .

We've needed toughness and rebounding all year , but never once have we tried playing Harrell at the 4 ... Because he can't shoot . We've never tried bev/James/Dekker/Harrell/Clint ... Because not enough shooting ... Disregard that's our most athletic combination .

He's played 3 guard to a fault and I say to a fault because it hasn't ****ing worked well . The definition of insanity is doing something over and over and expecting a different result . Our 3 guard lineup with Lou has been trash. And yet we run 12 min a game of 3 guard with Lou .

It's infuriating ... And I just think he's making too many tactical mistakes . Hopefully the players will play better and bail him out ... But it won't be because he's placed them in a position to succeed.

Harden is not gonna win MVP at this rate, and frankly WB might even deserve it if he keeps up his monster performance. I was anti-Westbrook all season long, but at some point you gotta give credit where credit is due. Just rest Harden, because he's clearly not 100%.

If would have been so much better narrative wise if Harden just decided to sit out when he first got hurt, and just let this team lose (our seeding is locked, so who cares?) Now he has hurt his numbers and MVP narrative all at the same time. Well, that was your choice James.

Just give it to Leonard at that point, Westbrook is padding too much, plays literally no defense to pad even more...he shouldn't really get that award imo.

We shall see if that is more fatigue or all wrist injury.

But it has been a constant that Harden used to play alot in the regular season and play not up to his absolute best in every postseason game.

Because you do not value how much stamina it takes to stat pad every game, it takes a toll on a talented player.

Defensive rebounding still counts for Defense.

It depends if he can get up to 40 or over 41 trip doubles one season for me.

If he does, he would be considered a strong candidate.

Honestly, I think the MVP has already been decided and Harden should rest up for the playoffs, all he's going to do playing with that bad wrist is make his MVP chances worse. He definitely needs to sit and Dantoni needs to have the balls to make him do it.

The MVP won't mean a thing if we get bumped in the first round. Harden has put up a historic season and what's he done should be enough to sway voters. I think most voters have already made up their mind, anyway, whether it be Harden or Westbrook.

I applaud his gusto in wanting to play 82 games, but sitting due to injury is different from resting, he needs to sit. Despite what the media says, we won't go anywhere without the beard playing at 100%

    Championships.

MVP is nice and all, but if you're getting bounced in the first or second round who cares.
