One would think so, but if we believe in a heaven and a hell. Some would say suicide would lead to eternal life of fire and torture, without a chance to repent and Jesus.

Then, there are those who believe in ghosts. Tortured souls who have died a violent death and may have left unfinished business. They are unable to move on to Heaven and doomed to live in limbo.

Few things in this world are as damaging to organized religion as a terrorist...AND a judgmental and self righteous bible thumper.

    Thump, thump.

RIP Eddie, you had truly special talent/ability, I wish your NBA career could have blossomed into your potential.

but I can't help but think this incident could have been avoided, was he drunk? High?

probably had some problems, thinking about it why would anyone drive against a train man..isn't there any blockade or something to warn him before he goes through?

sad that his life was reckless and now tragic...instead of productive and team oriented with a sense of community. Alcohol and drugs and ghetto-life.

That's a ****ed up thing to say man. Eddie seemed like a good person who just had personal problems. To say he won't go to a better place, and to call his life a shame is horrible.

    R.I.P. Eddie

I really am saddened by this. I met him before and he was a really nice guy. I think it's sad how depression can affect people and I hope he is at peace now.

Horrible way to go. I feel badly for his family. I can't imagine going out that way...awful.

I do have to admit that I still think Eddie was a woman beater and I didn't respect him, but no deserves that. RIP

Very sad news. Dude had some problems, but there is no reason for any of you to rip on him. Not a one of you can say you know what he was going through.

    RIP, Eddie.

Well, if one thinks that ghosts and limbo are bibilical things. I would say that has to do more with the occult. I wouldn't know about the Bible. I haven't read it.

I remember being elated the night I heard that the rockets had drafted him. He was so talented and so young.

I thought he'd be a great nba player. And I thought he'd put whatever issues he had in his past behind him as soon as he got into a stable situation in the nba.

    But obviously that never happened.

It's almost surreal and tragic that Eddie Griffin is now dead at 25. I just kept hoping he would find the right team, right opportunity. It didn't even matter if he was a star, or even a starter. I just wanted to see him change his life.

It's funny how we get attached to these athletes that we don't even know. And I'll admit, I did that with Griffin. I wanted to see him succeed.

Now he's dead from an unnecessary and tragically bizzare incident. Just the way the rest of his life seemed to be.

There isn't any scientific evidence. If only everybody else believed it, life would be easier. We should talk more about this in another thread. It was fun.
