Man, EG was one of my favorite Rockets back in the day I still remember his clutch J's on many occasions. I remember one game he almost airballed a 3 and then came back in the next possession to drain one to win the game. I remember him blocking Duncan at the rim twice - on the same possession. I remember him shutting down KG in the 4th quarter, after MoTay had gotten schooled by him in the 3rd. As far as shotblocking and rebounding go, Eddie was easily a top 5 talent in the league. One thing I don't quite understand about this accident though, is how does a vehicle just explode upon impact/collision. I mean whenever you see those crash dummy tests with head-on collisions there's never any fire involved
Cars are made of metal and have gas and other flammables. Trains are made of metal and run on metal tracks. When metal rubs against metal, you can get sparks. When car hits train, flammables can be exposed to sparks. Fire starts, fire spreads. More volatiles are exposed to heat, fire gets bigger.
maybe he was comitting suicide? ...more than likely seeing as it's easy to spot a train in front of u, just my thoughts
You are not sorry or you wouldn't have done it twice. Please the man was a troubled soul who in all likelihood took his own life. Leave him be... at least in this thread. If you must talk bad about him, start another thread titled "I don't pity the man, he got what he deserved". But leave it out of here. Most of us here are very saddened by Eddie's death.
My brother was a fan of him. I'm not quite sold on the suicide though. Running your car into the side of a moving train doesn't sound too convincing to me. Maybe he was suicidal, but I doubt this accident was the result of an attempted suicide. Anyways, he would've made out to be a nice player had he not have those problems. RIP young guy.
damm, this is really sad...way too young to go out. Everyone please pray for him. Here's a good article on Eddie: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/steve_aschburner/08/22/griffin/
