You started a thread titled "Did Clyde Drexler Win a Tainted Ring?" Are you kidding me? You are such a moron.
Sorry, I wish I could say that most fans from my town Sacramento knew NBA basketball but sadly they all worship KHTK and Sactown Royalty.
Getting traded in the twilight of your career isn't collusion in the offseason as a free agent in your prime.
Clyde was 31 and on the decline when he teamed up with Hakeem Lebron James was 25 and probably not in his peak yet when he teamed up with Wade AND Bosh Not saying Lebron's is tainted, but it's not really a fair comparison...
I suddenly have a severe need to neg rep If James wins a ring, his won't be tainted either, but he'll still be one of the biggest showboating self-obsessed b*****s to ever be an NBA superstar.
I don't understand the hate on LeBron and Bosh. Seriously for the first time in the history of the NBA the players fugged over the establishment. Stern did NOT want Lebron in Miami. It destroyed one of his then extremely profitable franchises. He now has ANOTHER franchise in the red. Much bigger crimes against the sport: McHale trading Garnett to the Celtics. I mean million to one shot it was the Celtics that offered the best package right? West trading Gasol to the Lakers. Never heard of any other teams in the hunt, just first heard that Gasol is going to the first round failure Lakers. Hmm again so interesting that they offered the best package.
gtfo. he gave his all in portland and was on his way out. they applauded him when he returned there as a rocket.
This is a Rockets board and even though the Glyde's commentary is goofy at times, he was one of the hardest workers in his era. <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/fIc0Q1qq3pI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> So even if you're joking, don't come here disrespecting our hall of fame players.
Yes, Clyde is good but he could never be MJ, that's why he coat-tailed his way to a ring. Plus, he was clearly second fiddle to Hakeem. Pretty much, basically what Lebron is doing. He realized he would never be able to carry a team on his own and decided to become Wade's sidekick and ride his teammate in hopes of getting a ring. Both are diminished. At least Clyde was traded and could say he didn't do it of his own will unlike Lebron.
Lebron is not second fiddle to anyone, he is the best player in the NBA and if you have watched a heat game this playoffs you clearly see the majority of the offense is run through him. The op is making a point to all you cry babies saying he should be banned. I would try and add to his argument but all you unbiased homers would ask for my head. So go rockets!
Lebron James was not under contract and therefore was not obligated to keep playing for the same team. Drexler requested a trade because he didn't feel like playing out the contract he had signed with Portland. The two situations are not remotely the same.
Neither answer applies. Clyde was traded by Portland to Houston. Big difference than the LeBron Decission. Stupid Poll.
