Whoever says Bowen is a good defensive player is a fool. All he does is hustle and annoy people, and he makes everyone believe he's a good defensive player, what a joke. He's a dirty player who tries to hurt people.
bowen is only a good defensive player because he hides his fouls very well..none of the refs actually see him foul..but i can guarantee you he fouls on 80-95% of the time he guards people..
On a similar tangent, assuming JVG was/is still coach and Bowen was playing for the Rockets and doing all this, how much PT do you think he would get? Not saying Pops and the Spurs are soft or turn a blind eye to it all, but I'm of the opinion JVG would put Bowen in the doghouse if he tried something like that. Oh and to answer the original question, it's hard to say with certainty without Bowen actually playing for the Rockets, but I would like to think that if that was the case, I would still consider him a dirty player and a blight on the game.
I remember when Bowen first pulled one of his shenanigans - the one on Vince Carter. He is the main reason I hate the Spurs so much; he is such a classless punk. He along with Ginobli and Parker are probably my 3 most hated players in the NBA. I wouldn't be a Rockets fan anymore - not until that loser left the team to go play somewhere else or get suspended for life. I would NEVER condone a player intentionally trying to hurt another player, no matter how big of an ******* that player is.
I think bruce might get a suspension, he did it again with sticking that knee and almost injured nash (maybe he did, nash did look to be in deep pain for a while)
I feel the same way. Physical defense is one thing but intentionally hurting other players is another. You have to be a coward if you feel you must physically hurt your opponent to win a game.
right, but how did you feel about him being on the rockets? someone said we would support a dirty players as long as he was a rocket. i don't remember feeling one way or the other about oak, since like u said his stint here was so short. no big incident happened, no one called him out publicly for any specific dirty play, etc, so we as rox fans never really had any moral dilemma we had to wrestle with. personally, i don't care whether the player is a rocket or not, dirty is dirty. u gotta respect the game, u can't go out there intentionally trying to hurt people, especially the sneaky way bowen goes about it. at least oak hurt you up top, throwin elbows, what not. what Bowen does is much worse. with what he did to vc, francis, ray allen, mike finley, paul pierce, (who else?)might as well call him Annie Wilkes.
I would never root for Bruce Bowen no matter what team he played on. His actions are sneaky, calculated and mean -- with intent to harm. I also lose respect for Popvich and Tim Duncan (the team leader) for not calling this b.s. out. How much blame do you think Duncan should take? Shouldn't he be speaking up?
Bowen to play Game 4 http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_y...5nYcB?slug=aw-bowen051407&prov=yhoo&type=lgns
I hate how they say he is under fire for his aggressive play. The problem isn't that he's aggresive. We all like hard nosed aggresive players. There is a very wide gap between hard nosed aggresive play and intentionally kicking someone in the leg, groin etc...
hahaha how does this guy get away with this?? who unintentionally knees someone where the "sun doesn't shine" a game after stoudemire pointed out the fact that bowen kicked him. a flagrant foul? come on i didn't see it but what the heck really now? i thought the jazz where bad...geez..
Bowen should be banned from the game. There's too many incidents of him injuring or nearly injuring a player. Actually - if it's not intentional - then that makes it worse, because it means that Bowen is just a ticking time-bomb to injure players over and over. I say - the guy can't control is body (feet) - ban him.
Pretty obvious on all accounts...He's just a dirty b*stard and I can't believe no one has given him his own medicine...
