yeah that's pretty much the definition of dirty play. he stepped forward specifically to put his foot on his heel. i mean it wasn't even close to just being in stride.

i don't want to believe that another professional athlete would specifically aim to give a guy a potentially terrible injury, but i don't know what exactly his mindset is in these situations.

I've had a few players like this before. If you know they are gonna undercut you and try to have you land on their feet then what you do is you land on their feet with all your might. Heck land on their ankle if you have to. That's the only way to counter that. Trust me with my weight, well before but i'm still a bit hefty. Was 250 now i'm 185, their feet weren't feeling good after i landed on them hard. HEEL FIRST!!

Bowen in interviews speaks like a nice guy and I believe he does a lot good work outside of basketball. Unfortunately, this seems to make people not believe he's the dirtiest player in the league.

Bowen's signature move is not nailing down the baseline 3, but rather it is sticking his foot underneath a player shooting a jumper. If the shooter lands on Bowen's foot he's probably spraining or breaking his ankle. Even if the player does not land on Bowen's foot he's going to think about where he's landing the next time he shoots a jumper instead of focusing on making the shot. Granted this is part of why Bowen has stopped so many players, however it's absolutely despicable.

You could make a better case for OJ being innocent than for this not being considered intentional.

He should be suspended for the rest of the playoffs if not flat out thrown out of the NBA.

Ray Allen was right when he said Bowen does not play basketball. He is out to injure people's ankle's and knees. Cut and dry. When it happens the 5 millionth time, it's not a freaking accident.

At least when Karl Malone was dirty, it was throwing elbows, knee's, etc. Plays like that are at least to a person's face and while dirty you are not going to end someone's career with an elbow.

The underhanded stuff Bowen does is clearly to injure people very seriously. And he does it with the player's back turned to them like in the case of Stoudemire and the kick to Ray Allen's back. It's just cowardly. This is not defense or being physical. It's a clear intention to injure.

I have the vision of Bruce Bowen having his left ankle & right knee snapped on the court.

Somehow I know it's gonna happen just like my curse on Clippers.

I don't like Phoenix nor Stoudemire. If the NBA suspends Bowen, it would make it easier for Phoenix to win. Having said that ...
They should suspend Bowen for a long time or throw him out of the NBA altogether. This is worse than those fights. This is coward, dirty and much more dangerous. As blind as the NBA's brasses are, don't they realize he is destroying their products and pocket book ?

That is just horrible. Bowen has a history of these kind of tactics and he needs to be suspended

I hate Bowen. he's the modern day version of Karla Malone.

If you gonna foul a guy, just smack him up Bruce, why you gotta try to hide like a little girl for.

How can anyone defend him anymore?

Many players have come out about his dirty tactics. He is constantly trying to injure people, or at the very least, do things that would injure a player if they don't compensate, thus causing them to worry about something other than their game.

At least Karla, as much as I hate to say anything that might be construed as a "positive" about him, usually gave you the flying knee to the nuts, or an elbow that might flatten you. What Bowen's doing is trying to cause serious injury. Surgical injury, on purpose.

and Popvich and the entire Spurs organization look the other way.

Tim "Mr. Perfect" Duncan looks the other way -- be a man and stand up for what's right.

What a piece of ****. I'd love it if someone finally cold cocked him if the league can't do the right thing.
