man, how does poor innocent bruce bowen always get caught up in these nasty allegations? a guy accidentally sprains a few ankles, kicks a few guys in the face or back, and almost takes out an achilles tendon, and suddenly he's labeled dirty. for shame american, for shame.

this has to stop. he injured more people than artest and eddie griffen together. imagine if amare got injured. if he injured stevie when he was with the rockets i'm pretty sure it was cause alot of troubles. and with the vince carter incident. it looks like he intentionly moved backwards. anyway, hes still a dirty guy. he should be suspended at least 30 games.

    It is just so easy.

Suns just need to send a bench-warmer to take this a**hole out. Break his leg or something.

Indeed a dirty player. No question about it. You Spers fans out there should re-examine your love for that whole franchise.

if I was in the nba an Bruce Bowen pulled crap like that on me, i'd hurt him bad and risk being suspended a year. The guy is the dirtiest player in the league and has been for a while

Wow. That Vince Carter ejection video....just...wow. I can't believe Bowen got away with that.

    What a dirty-ass player.

It's goes against what I believe, but what are you supposed to do? If the league does nothing or slaps him on the wrist, then he's just "enabled," secure in the knowledge that he can get away with it. And don't think Pops doesn't know what's going on. He may not advocate it openly, but by continuing to keep him on the floor after instances like this, and not fining Bowen himself after the fact, when you know he's seen the film, Pops is condoning the act.

Someone should do unto Bowen what he does unto others.

i so freaking hate the Spurs, because of that. Popowitch is evil. Honestly, I could never root for that team. It is embarrassing. Spurs fans are clueless, just like Karl Malone fans were.

Bowen likely isn't trying to end guys careers on-purpose... but his defense is excessive.

Just like the NBA is trying to eliminate Knicks/Heat-type physical play (and bad shooting) by calling all the ticky-tack fouls around the perimeter, they need to ref Bruce Bowen to no end... and force him to adjust.

I know what you mean, it almost feels like the many times when you need to plunk a batter in baseball in retaliation.

Not sure what to do about this. The NBA is more than willing to suspend Kobe Bryant for slapping players but doesn't do jack squat for repeated dirty tricks on the part of Bruce Bowen.

I personally have a lot of respect for Bowen. I think it is truly a pity that we live in such a sissy NBA era where hard fouls and injuries are looked down upon. Players need to send a message that "my team will win at all costs, even if that means taking you out/ending your career". A couple of career ending injuries, and Bowen will be a true superstar in my mind. This will make Amare think thrice about scoring on the Spurs. Bowen should be praised as a true Trailblazer for what he is doing. If only Yao could become like this.
