You know how many points Tony Parker scored in the 4th quarter tonight? 7...

You know how many points Yao Ming scored in the 4th quarter tonight? 6...

The difference is the other guys on the Spurs were hitting their shots.

Oh yeah, not to mention the Mavs were missing all of their shots.

That drawing looks like either a penis or a toilet bowl.

Is it some kind of a Rorschach test?

Why can you guys give OUR team credits? We just had a new starting PG and a new starting SG , we just had a cosistent rotation, we have much more rooms to improve than most other teams, and we are in the 4th place and in the striking distance of the 2nd.

Yeah, and we have Yao. If the team doesn't front him we go to him every time down. If they do the team needs to learn the necessary procedure to eitehr swing around to the weak side to get him the ball or make offense for themselves using the advantage that their center has given up inside position.

I DO NOT want a McGrady type player in there taking all the shots down the stretch at 40% at best.

The Rox have Scola. They have Battier. They have Landry and Brooks, Brent Barry, Lowry. They'll be fine as long as they remember how to execute the offense.

If you pin the hopes of our season on Artest and Wafer stepping up and driving to the basket down the stretch then we've already lost.

completely agree. you watch some of the dominant PF and C in the league and they have a much easier time with fronts... esp players like garnett and howard who are long and athletic. I remember back in the day when teams used to try that w/ hakeem and he used to torch them... not sure why Yao can't learn to catch over his head... another problem is that he can't get many rebounds, so i'm not sure he's a good guy to have on defense at the end of games against some of the smaller/athletic teams.

He's guarded by a more athletic guy 100% of the time. You want to try an overhead pass? Rotation and ball movement would solve the entire problem. Lamenting that Yao isn't athletic solves nothing.

The man needed the ball to do whatever it is tat you wanted him to do. It's funny how some people just point out how he can't do this and do that. But never fail to see that Yao wasn't given the ball in those moments.

you obviously never played bball on a real court. playing a whole qtr is much more demanding than 6min each for two qtrs

Artest and Scola had been playing all out from start to finish.. but let me guess.. Yao's height and weight etc. etc..?

can't be over relied on for an entire game.. he'll be winded by the end.. can't be over relied on at the end.. even if kept out the majority of a half..

here's an idea.. put a cease and desist on the whole "force feed" strategy.. and try something new..

"This is what it means to be a team," Scola said. "There are going to be many nights when Yao is going to carry us. He has had those games. He scores and scores and nobody can stop him. He is going to be killing people.

"You are always going to have your better player, the one that you want to get the ball all of the time. The one that you want to take most of the shots. Yao is that player for us.

"So on a night like this where he has maybe a little problem, we have other people who can score and make plays. We can still win and be the team we should be."

    __________________________________________________________________

Did you say anything to Yao when he missed those two dunks?

Brooks: "I couldn't. He started the fastbreak and I had to get back and play defense."

    __________________________________________________________________

Do Yao's problems with pick-and-roll defense become a weakness?

Scola: "I know where you're going with that and, to be honest, I think what Yao does on the offensive end more than makes up for anything with pick-and-roll defense. We'll take that trade.

I kinda saw it, but it's more of a team effort than just one player that has to step up. Nonetheless, it was still a victory tonight, so I'll take it.

I don't see what is so special about Yao...I really don't...after watching him for 7yrs and rarely every missing a game I just don't see what everybody on this board sees in him. Yes I know at his height he is amazing and he is pretty dominant in the offensive end if he has man to man coverage and deep post position...but IMO his cons outweigh his pros...he is one of the most unclutch players I have ever seen....he tightens up at the end of games and has stupid turnovers....his defense sucks so badly...the only good thing about him is that he is tall and can stand in front of the rim and change a few shots...but damn does his defense suck...he is way to slow to guard the pick and roll (if you watch the lakers and celtics both of their big men are GREAT at guarding the pick and roll) The saddest part about having Yao is that the rockets will do anything and everything to keep him in Houston until he retires and that really sucks because I think this team could be much better with a mobile center and more adelman type players. I'm not stupid though...I know we still have a chance to win the championship with Yao on this team, but I'll tell you one thing if we win it wont be because of Yao...it will be because of the team and Adelman.

yeah, i can't see it either. i mean he's just a 7'6 stiff. kinda strange why so many teams send double-teams against him. i mean all the other teams do is not letting him have the ball... why??

but you got it right in the end. congrats.
