So, it was the 07' 08' season and i had just started college in Los Angeles. I got to watch a cast including: Mike Harris, Rafer Alston, Luis Scola, Chuck Hayes, and Battier trounce the lakers on national tv, to push the streak to 20. The best part, I was surrounded by laker fans. GS's streak made me remember how much fun that was, and I am sure a lot of you feel similarly. I was glad they lost. I didn't want them to pass us. Go Rockets!
Enjoyed the 22-win streak when it happened, but don't care too much if GSW passes it, to be honest. Also, Houston's felt special because it was so unexpected given the roster we had.
Wtf are you talking about? We still hold the damn record you fool. Shows how big a rockets fan you are.
Games: 27 Team: Miami Heat 2012–13* record: 66–16 Sadly, he's right. I hate the heat so much I forgot.
I admit that I want as few teams as possible to pass it. So, yes, I think about it when a streak gets over 15 and I am relieved when it is stopped. I hated when the Heat passed it, but the other posters are right in that a team passing it doesn't diminish they way I feel about the streak.
It was really awesome when it happened and for a brief time the entire sport's world zeroed in on the T-Mac led Rockets. It was probably the most significant accomplishment of that era...sadly.
Nope , 22 in a row was second best anyhow .... Not a bad milestone for the franchise but .... Not "The Record."
No! Golden State is not even close to how amazing that Houston team was. If Yao was healthy, that streak would have continued and I think we could have made it to the finals. Honestly if we had a full healthy team to go against the current Golden State team I don't think their streak would have gone that high.
We lost to Boston in the very next game. Remember that? When the Lakers and the Celtics were actually good? Anyways, yeah it was extremely exciting and unexpected when it happened. Unfortunately, we didn't do anything in the playoffs that year and that streak has been passed since then. Still a cool accomplishment, but I won't mind very much if it ever gets passed again.
Everyone knows golden state are not contenders. they had a nice streak, and they have great initial talent, but their team isn't deep enough, and they dont have enough push int he end to really get far in the playoffs. you guys worry too much about irrelevant things.
I think many are missing the point here......sometimes fans do this thing where they talk about past events in a cordial way. After all that is the point of being a fan isn't it? Tfor3 you've been here since 07'. you get the nod sir.
