    DavidS ,

Don't worry about verse; his D is good, but jumper is as bad as Shandn Anverson's. ;)

On Comets games vs Rockets games:
The women and lesbians and kids are much louder. The tickets are also cheaper. I'd enjoy it because I love basketball, but the WNBA woudn't survive without the NBA supporting it, in my opinion. Rockets arena fans suck when it comes to noise. It started in 97 and went way down after the Barkley/Dream era. I can yell obsceneties at the game and everyone can hear me. However, in our society, it's not good business not to sell $$$$$ tickets when there are people who'd pay $$$$$ for tickets. So a lot of them are quiet, casual fans who don't make noise. So what? Turn them away? Nope. Try to create an atmosphere where they'd be more into it. That's why the drum guys were there. Of course in the ideal socialist society, all of us CC.Net people would be occupying half court seats...but that's not the way things work.

    As for WNBA players:
They can hoop. That doesn't mean guys can't many of them. Arnie Spanyard lost by a couple of points to Megan Dydko (I think it was her, or another big center) on the Howard Stern show.

Once again, you people have destroyed a perfectly good thread.

Hey - if you wanna talk about Rockets vs. Comets, or WNBA vs. NBA, WHY DON'T YOU START YOUR OWN DAMN THREAD?!?!?

Here, I'll make it easy for you...

If that's too difficult for you, maybe you should hold off on posting until you get out of kindergarten.

    BACK TO THE ORIGNAL QUESTION:

This was poorly written, but here it is.............
This is basically what was said, The interviewer (Dorris Burke), asked "The Franchise" about Jeff Van Gundy coming in and replacing Rudy, and he said that he loves Rudy and he appreciates what Rudy has done for him since he joined the NBA. For coach Van Gundy coming in, he hopes he can do some of the things he did with the knicks.

Dorris Burke goes on and says him and Cuttino are one of the most exciting back court in the NBA, Steve corrects her and says "We are the most exciting back court in the NBA." She said that the Rockets were 1 win away from being in the playoffs last season, and asked what are they going to do to change that, Steve says "Its tuff sometimes coming into the NBA being hungry to get some victories and try to hang with the big boys, but I think sometimes you have to crawl before you walk."

She says, " This isnt the first time you've been to a Comets game, they're able to take control in the second half, your thoughts on this game," Steve says, " I think they're gonna pull it out, Sheryl and Tina are going to take over at the end, the way the Comets are winning is how we're going to be winning next season."

She talks about the "Toyota Center" and how he feels about moving into the new arena, Steve talks about how the Rockets have been into the compaq center for 25-30 years and that its time for them to get a new arena.

I agree with that. But who on the Rockets has a good pull up j? From 15' in, we're terrible. If Steve with his quickness were half as good as Casell at the stop and pop in short range, he'd be incredible. And Swoopes and Thompson can get their shots, admittedly they'd be blocked occasionally, but they could play 2 ball against some NBA players and win. Maybe not against you and Mooch...

I hope you know there's a world of difference between tearing someone up in practice and doing it in an actual game when the stakes are on the line. Patterson used to handle Kobe in practice, hence the self-gloss "Kobe Stopper". Reality set in in actual NBA action.

Are they playing with a woman's basketball, or a men's basketball?

RM, go to one of the Comets practices. I have a feeling you think that they're practices are "soft."

Jordan used to say that his practices here more rigorous than his games. Swoops plays the same way. Against men.

By the way, we all know that Kobe is better than Patterson. If you talk the talk
you better walk the walk...i.e. Bruce Bowen.

Bowen was not kidding himself, either. He knows that Kobe is "better." But he gets the job done. Just like Dumars used to do against Jordan.

Nevertheless, the Patterson comparison to Swoops is way off. Both of them are in different classes. Patterson, role player. Swoops, MVP, All-Star, WNBA Champion, Gold Medalist, NCAA Title...

A better comparison would be Dominique Canty. She's a role player on the Comets. But I'm a little confused that you can actually compare Moochie to Kobe.
