Do you anticipate the Rockets would delay going through with other possiblities until close to the deadline in order to see if Paul is attainable?

If the Hornets give up CP3 they may as well fold that franchise.

My opinion. This will not be done quickly. They will draw it out for a little bit to see what happens to some teams who think they are still in it this year. If those teams start to slide, then they will be more open to making that trade to get that fresh start.

If they hold out, I am sure it won't be just for Paul but you bet they will pay attention to their situation.

Actually it's exactly in line with what Morey has been saying:

it’s going to take a lot for us to say, ‘Let’s break apart this really solid group.’ It’s going to have to take All-Star like talent coming our way for us to say, ‘This is something we want to break up.’

Not only is Paul and All-Star, he is a top 10 talent in the league. I think that the Rockets would do the deal in a heartbeat. It's going to be difficult for NO to pull the trigger on trading CP3, no matter how much money that they save.

In all honesty, I would be willing to give up any combination of talent on our team for CP3. This includes Landry + Brooks + Bud while taking back some bad contracts like Peja + Posey.

You need superstar talent to win the championship in this league. Chris Paul is that kind of talent.

Plus, we know Morey can surround him with championship quality role players.

If you think Brooks, Landry, and Bud are the only gems Morey will find during his tenure as the GM of the Rockets, you're sorely mistaken. This guy knows what he's doing, and he will be able to piece together a combination of free agents, trade partners, and rookies to give Paul and the Rockets an opportunity to win it all.

LOL. Chris Paul's value is not that low. Give them all 3 NO would just reject in 1 second.

    Yeah, some people are delusional.

There's some guy going around the RealGM boards claiming he has a marketing executive friend that saw Andrei Kirilenko in the Toyota Center last night, and is receiving a physical tonight.

Probably BS, but I do remember those AK47 rumors last year, but yeah, likely some guy making up stuff (though he's repeated it numerous times).

AK would be desirable only if he comes with the Knicks' pick.

I've heard rumors(Internet Gossip) that the Jazz, for some reason besides his contract, like TMAC and would be willing to give him and that nice contract a chance. While, i'd be skeptical. it would not shock me to see Brigitte Nielsen(Flavor Flav days) in a Rox uniform sometime soon.

We could piece together about as nice a trade as anyone could for New Orleans, saving them major cap dollars, and giving a nice foundation to build on.

McGrady, Cook, Landry, Brooks and our 2010 #1 for CP3, Okafor, Posey, Diogu and New Orleans' 2010 #2. Basically any combination that nets us CP3 works and the above deal leaves NO with Brooks, Landry, Julian Wright, as a base upon which to add two first rounders. They also wind up with Peja expiring next year. They can either buy him out or trade him for a talent upgrade.

The whole key is will N.O. be hurting enough by the trade deadline that they want to sell the farm and start over. This is the franchise Morey is starting with. If we can't pull CP3, then he's going to move on to other things...but not before exhausting this possibility.

Jazz owner want to see what hilarity would ensue when Jerry Sloan has to work with Tracy McGrady? I'd pay to see that reality show.

Anyway I see this, it's better for us is to let TMac's contract expire.

If NO's really wanting to dump CP3 or a similar deal opens up then that's the only logical reason to trade TMac. And why would NO want to do it now?

Near the trade deadline things may loosen up a bit. TMac's not an asset now - his contract is - and we have to hope somene wants it.

Worst case scenario, he sits the entire season and we have $11 mln or so in cap space to sign another Morey type players at the 4 or 5 spot who will give us a presence in the middle. I would try for Gortat or Brandon Bass who aren't getting any run from Orlando

There is no way the Hornets are moving Chris Paul unless he demands it.

An offer of Posey + Okafor would be interesting, for me atleast.

If i remember correctly i remember hearing and seeing on t.v that N.O would probably move CP3 or sometime because of financial reasons. I may not be 100% accurate but I remember something to that.

If we play tmac and lose enough games, should we have a better chance of getting another "Brandon roy"

T-mac is better than half the team when he's hurt. This B.S. about not being able to work him in is just that B.S....If a coach wanted to work him in he'd be in. Rockets have been wanted the easy way out for sometime. If you can't take a player like T-mac and use him on this team you just plain out don't want him. This -chemistry crap is overated.

These are professionals that have been playing the sport their whole lives. You don't think T-mac can get in there and play because he upsets the -chemistry-....Your nuts...!...If you just don't want the man here anymore....then say it, but to say....WE can't work him in is an insult to him and the Rockets.....Man-Up.....CHEMISTRY...?....You got to win something to have CHEMISTRY....what a croc...!...GOOD LUCK T-MAC.....GOOD LUCK ROCKETS....!...what a croc.....can't work him in....! ! !
