Wow m surprised Adelman doesn't believe T-mac can still be productive. I just assumed Adelman was being super cautious.

    1. Too late for that.
    2. Does anyone really wanna be "champions if we were healthy" anymore?

I think he might believe he could be productive, but in order to get him there it would hurt the team THIS year....

    So, why bother?

What's interesting to me is that Budinger's name is mentioned along with Landry's in the "other teams want him, but Morey won't give him" category.

Landry I get, it's hard to overlook how efficienct the guy is.

Budinger? He's looked good for a rookie, but I think his ceiling is a Brent Barry. I'd give him up if, say, Kings want him in a Kevin Martin deal..

I don't see us getting anything for Tracy right now. Also who do you guys think the Rockets are willing to throw in to get a deal done ? My guess is maybe Scola but I hope if they get a trade, no big player has to go.

I think you are underestimating his potential. He looks to be a streaky shooter thus far but he is athletic and can create his own shot, unlike Ariza. He can take it strong to the cup and create contact.

I have a gut feeling Scola and or Battier will get shipped along with Stacy.

I honestly, don't think it is that tough of a job.

The only people anxious to get something done are probably, McGrady's people and fans that hate on McGrady. Morey has a contract a lot of teams would love to get their hands on, all he has to do is listen to the offers and see what the best deal for this team is. If nothing comes up, boo-hoo, we get $23 million off the books in the off season, along with the rest of our expiring contracts.

With most of the good guys that might be traded to help the Rockets being either destined for playoff runs or in positions we are doing fine in (PG and PF), Morey may not get a deal done and the fact is, that is perfectly fine.

Not always. Maybe with JVG it is. But Adelman is known to let the team develop through the season even though the developmental stage might cost some wins early on. (Why else is he letting Ariza do all those dumb things?)

I think if Adelman believed that McGrady could develop into something that would help the team down the road, he would have sacrificed a few games now. As is, Adelman either thinks TMac can never return to his former level, or that TMac cannot or will not change his game to fit the team.

That depends, I think Budinger at only 21 has a LOT of upside, allstar upside....

So, why move him if you don't have to?

i totally disagree with justice on this tmac trade. morey doesn't have a tough job ahead. the ball is on tmac's side. rox've already prepared to play w/o tmac since the season started. they do not have any intention to reassign him. what they did in last a few months clearly shows they will let tmac be a free agent if they can't find a good deal. it's the reason they removed him from the active list so he won't be a distraction and the team can focus on games. rox is not rush to trade him.

on the other end, tmac has a tough job. he has to find a trade rox is willing to take so he can get his shape back through playing and he is in contract year. any trade that can't entertain rox will not be taken by rox for sure. morey has phD and is very smart gm. trying to make him happy, tmac agent has a lot works to do.

I think it is fairly clear it was T-mac attitude that got him canned, not his game.

Hopefully, we can do something like McGrady to NY for Milicic, Nate Robinson, and Mobley.

Serious. Break one large expiring down into several smaller ones that will be easier to move.

I'm not opposed to the break-it-down approach as a last resort, but this trade only makes sense if we're flipping Nate Robinson in another deal. He's not the type of player this team needs. In any event, I hope what they're saying on ESPN is true about how Morey is firm on his stance that he wants an All-Star caliber player or no deal.
