Agreed, best episode of the season, thus far. I dont think it was the trinity killer who shot them, it just doesnt fit his MO, like a previous poster mentioned. I dont think it was Anton either, he would have just confronted them instead of shooting them down. I guess it has to be "vacation killer/s". I am also interested to see if Rita finds out what is actually in that trunk, in Dexter's apt.
The Vacation Killer would be too much of a coincidence (then again, they were at a motel). It has to be Trinity making it look like the Vacation killer. That's why I was curious if I missed something when he bumped into Lundy because I think he tracked him down by picking his pocket or something.
Great episode. Finally, an episode where Dexter can just be Dexter and not daddy/husband. I think Trinity killer did the shooting. Anything else would be too random and I don't think Anton would kill Deb no matter how angry he is.
So, two episodes have come and gone since the last post in this thread. I'm curious what everyone thinks. Personally, I felt like last week's episode was rather good, with the most recent episode taking a drastic dive toward mediocrity. Some good development of the Trinity Killer character, but hardly an ounce of the suspense that defines the show.
Good call on it being Trinity's family, though I didn't see the part coming where Trinity has a family of his own. That just extended Trinity's life just a bit longer while Dexter learns a bit from him. I'm wondering though if Trinity is onto Dexter though or suspects something of him. Lithgow is not as crazy as Miguel Prado's character but does seem more evil to me. How he switches from loving father to crazed murderer so fast, but then again I'm thinking back on some of Lithgow's other characters as well. Rita is so annoying now but she has every right to be. I guess I tend to forget that from Rita's point of view Dexter is a recovering drug addict who has cheated on her. Dexter just seems to forget that sometimes and so do I since the show doesn't revolve around her storyline too much. I guess that's what the creators are trying to achieve and it's working.
I like the development of this season. It is making Dexter more. .. human. More well rounded. Rocket River
I agree on both points. If they're trying to create a sense of misdirection, they are succeeding. A couple of episodes back when Rita brought up the drug usage, my gf and I were both like "oh yeah! lol". We had completely forgotten. And yes, Rita is annoying...but for me it's mostly her voice. She uses that "whispery", breathy voice no matter what volume she's speaking at.
The last episode rocked. Spoiler I'm so glad they are not focusing in on the "domestic Dexter." He now has a new place for his dark passenger thanks to a lesson learned from Trinity. I'm starting to wonder if Trinity might make it through the whole season based on Dexter's involvement with him. Too bad Deb didn't die from her gunshot wound. That would have really made my day.
I don't think there is another character I hate more than Debra's, maybe its her masculine jawline. And the other thing that annoys the crap out of me is the love romance between Laguerta and Batista, man nobody wants to see ugly mofos getting all mushy on TV, WTF.
Any thoughts on this week's show? Here's a link if anyone wants it. You may have to kill a couple of pop ups right at the beginning and you have to sit through an ad. The video definitely works though. http://www.wisevid.com/view_video.php?viewkey=mq67peqaj43dulb23232#
Again!! the writers are doing something to provoke my thoughts and I'm loving it. I had just mentioned to my g/f that I wonder if he ever killed anyone like he did the last episode..and BOOM what do you know. The writers are leaving little tidbits for you to ponder certain thoughts and when it actually happens you're still shocked.!! Awesome episode!!
You think he's on to "Kyle"? I'm beginning to think thats what the writers want us to think? none of the kills in the cycle include a coffin so he's going to be going out of his pattern like he SUPPOSEDLY did with Lundy.
I think so. Cause 'Kyle' is . . . well to clingy. Unless - the 'coffin kill' is something Lundy never picked up on . . . Rocket River
Real quick question: what is the point of the Quinn sidestory? I don't get it, is he supposed to be the Doakes replacement? I personally preferred Doakes' character if that's the case...
Yea Doakes was Awesome. Quinn doesn't have the Strength of Character. Between Quinn his Girlfriend and his corruption . . . . I am glad to see Dexter showing more emotions like Annoyance/ Anger/ even concern for his gimpy sister Rocket River
Yeah.. i think Quinn will find out something about Dexter and then it will be a stalemate between the two.. they each got dirt on the other.. might be interesting to see how it plays out.. but that Laguerta and Batista thing seems to be going absolutely nowhere.. that whole side story couldn't be more boring..
