So, is this guy going to be let off the hook easy?

He is the biggest reason this whole mess exists in the first place.

The whole point of getting an agent work for you is that they are looking out for your best interest.

History has shown that Fegan does not necessarily do that.

He clearly put his friend Mark Cuban's interests over his client's (Deandre Jordan in this case).

    Clearly this a no no.

The fact that DAJ wouldn't even let his agent inside the house as he signed a new contract with the Clippers speaks volumes.

So, what will be the recursions if any?

Or back to business as usual?

I understood that Fegan doesn't represent DJ anymore.

I just don't understand how players go along with this. Like how was Dwight okay with the Parsons deal last season? That should not have happened.

He fought Dwight tooth and nail about coming here. He only relented after Dwight told him to either fall in line, or get fired. And the Parsons deal is EXACTLY what the OP is talking about. He negotiated Dwight's deal with the caveat that we release Parsons a year earlier than we wanted to. It was a good faith move on our part that ended up biting us in the ass when Fegan went running to Cuban as soon as Parsons was set free.

So who was the agent that co-signed on DJ's contract?

    Did Fegan drop DJ?

Meaning DAJ dropping him isnt enough of a repercussion.

I was long term repercussions for Dan Fegan.

I want his antics to cost him dearly and come back to bite him in the ass for many years.

Just having DJ drop him won't even make a dent in fegans pocket. he has so many high profile clients in the nba. it would take 10 deandre jordans to really effect him

Me too. It's becoming increasingly completed to maneuver in the NBA because you have to consider guys like Fegan pulling strings and playing chess in the shadows.

But ultimately it's up to the players to wise up and hire a good agent. If they don't catch on to Fegan's BS then that's on them.

nothing will happen unless the players themselves step up and fire him...but they won't because he's still a big time agent that gets them a lot of money.

The company Fegan works for Relativity Sports had an exec there.

OK. I was thinking about your sentence:

"The fact that DAJ wouldn't even let his agent inside the house as he signed a new contract with the Clippers speaks volumes."

Why would he be inside the house if he is not representing him anymore?

I think he still is, but the agency probably figured they'd let someone else handle this drama, to keep the whole conflict of interest angle under wraps.

That is what bothers me. DeAndre Jordan was going to get a max contract no matter who his agent was. His cousin could have "negotiated" a max contract for him. This isn't the NFL. All star level players get max contracts handed out like candy so I don't even know why agents are even involved for star players.

It was probably Fegan's idea to poison pill Parsons contract to further prevent the Rockets from matching. I remember Cuban was already wooing Parsons way before the Rockets were still going go hard for Bosh. It was an annoying situation.

He gets scrubs like Chandler Parsons and Martell Webster paid by redirecting star players around and presumably can channel that money back to them through sponsorships or whatever. I don't know. All I know is he's a POS and I hope this causes major backlash for him although it probably won't.
