Yeah this is a very naive take. Political violence has been racheticing up that past 20 years and it's pretty clear that politicians working their followers into a frenzy with demonization tactics are behind a lot of them. It's not a coincidence that these crazies buy into a lot of propaganda from fringe sources. I mean there are countless upon countless examples in world history - it's freaking human nature that leaders can invoke radicalism and radical acts.

Look no further than how Islamic terrorism work. Most of them are inspired by others even if not directly cultivated. This is the aim behind "Inspire" for instance.
