Anytime a person shoots another person it should be to kill. The idea of shooting someone in the foot or leg to stop them is TV show nonsense.

So the pastor shagged the dead guy's wife? I knew it couldn't be that simple.

Just say that's not what you meant to say (or, you know, don't be an idiot when you type) instead of being a dick. I was genuinely curious as to what your take was.

Now I see why you have the reputation that you do on this bbs.

My take was that any time you shoot at someone, you shoot to kill. You never shoot to maim or shoot to wound, that's TV nonsense for the most part.

I thought your initial comment was about grammatical minutia

Whats your statement based on? Feels as well?

You can shoot without the intent to kill. Shooting someone in the leg will very likely stop someone with a melee weapon, and likely will not kill them at the same time. If I wanted to stop an attack, and not murder someone, that would be a good choice if you can't run or stop the attack without a gun.

It's based on actual firearms training and practical experience.

Shooting at someone's legs is TV nonsense and there is just a ton that can go wrong. It's much better to leave the damn gun holstered if you don't think the scenario warrants potential lethal force.

Okay, I just looked into why people(mostly police officers), don't shoot to wound, and how difficult it would be to shoot a leg under distress. I withdraw that argument, my bad.

No worries. It's a very common misunderstanding, shooting targets that aren't moving when you aren't in danger is easy but it's totally different when it's an actual person and there is real danger.

Are mass shooting worth the opportunity to shoot brick wielding crazies?

Wouldn't have been safer for the pastor to have used his hand of God vs a Glock.

More like a mouse threatened his flock of cats and he decided to stomp on the mouse to the cheer of all the cats

You shoot to stop a threat (not to wound, not to kill). That would be to kill in a gun show down. For a brick?

But people are panicky and piss poor shooters.

    What's to debate?
