Sounds like something exactly Mcgrady would do or say. If funny to me to hear and see guys like Magic Johnson, Kenny Smith, Matt Bullard Bill Worrell, Cylde and rumors coming out of other cities about Mcgrady and his halfheartedness way of playing his game. It' something that some of use have been trying to say for a long time now and it's something that some others have been trying to deny. How often do you see him RUN the floor? Does he run Rick's system or does he revert back to the way he is use to play, (ball in his hands, with everyone clearing out). IMO he wants to be the MAN, has a hard time deferring to Yao and can't play without the ball. I think with Mcgrady all options need to be on the table. IMO Rashard Lewis, would be a better fit on this Rockets team than Tracie. Rashard is a shooter and can get to the basket, he wouldn't dominate the ball and would gladly come home to fit in Rick's system. But would Orlando want Tracie back? doubt it.

Until we have a direct quote where T-Mac says, "I'm unhappy and I want to be traded," I don't see any reason to believe baseless rumors.

Feigen has put it well. McGrady is unhappy only in the sense that he's had a frustrating season since the injuries began. There is no other reason to believe he's unhappy in Houston or with the Rockets IMO.

WOW, what a stupid thread. If it's this easy for other teams to to cause hate for our highest scorer then we are some mighty sad fans.

LOL you really think he has enough face left to say that? While the team is winning???

I rather look at a person's past to predict his future. His past says he is a quitter.

So you tell me...why is he "unhappy?" Because Sam "gossip queen," Smith said so? Give me a break. Next thing you'll tell me that Peter Vescey is the most accurate basketball analyst of his generation.

I think someone had to say something for somebody to write about it. I'm not sure Tracy actually said to his pals that he wants to go, but hinting about it isn't helping anything either. There has to be some substance to it if it's been said in 3 different papers in 3 different cities.

I agree...pay no attention to this. It sounds like a player read the tribune and commented on the crap written there. By the way, this is what Jon had to say in the chronicle blog responses regarding that true hoops post:

(That's a good line. But it was not "reports" it was a report, and it was not here, but in Chicago, and he did not say he wants to be traded, but that he was unhappy. And as we know, Tracy's mood swings like a weathervane when he is hurt. If he was unhappy weeks ago, that does not tell us anything about how he feels now. -- Jonathan)

I don't think this is baseless. All the rockets have seemed particularly disappointed this year. But Tmac has not showed up to games, has talked about playing with other superstars, and has rumors in other publications about his frustration with the team. It's hardly the enthusiastic support you want out your superstar. This behavior is in line with all the other frustrated players throughout the league.

Cassell's probably been frustrated since last year, but never said anything to the press until yesterday. Kobe mostly kept his anger with Laker management quiet until this past summerk, same with Pierce. And Garnett never voiced his displeasure with Twolves front office, only hinted at it. Just because Tmac hasn't gone into Terrell Owens mode doesn't mean he's not fed up.

If Morey thinks he can get good value for Tmac, he should put the trade offer out there. Otherwise, this team just needs to win. Winning solves everything. Look at Kobe and Pierce now, happy as clams less than half a year after their trade demands.

Most of us on this board are grown ass men and women, I believe. Tracy McGrady is 28 years old. I'm not going to believe that T-mac is behaving like a disgruntled third grader on the playground and telling everyone that he is unhappy and wants out. Until T-mac tells Morey and Coach A that he wants out, I really don't think it's appropriate for us to speculate or agree with writers who may have intentions which are outside of the realms of objectivity. It seems like it would be easy to live in Chicago, New York, Minnesota and near every other struggling NBA team, and suggest outlandish rumors with the goal of acquiring Tracy in a trade.

Wasn't Tracy on the bench the other night in Orlando? I could have sworn that he was cheering his teammates on. Or maybe he was just trying to market himself to every other team in the league. Maybe he was being the supportive teammate that the majority of Clutch BBS members claim he *can't* be.

I'd trade T-Mac for a package centered around Hedo with Redick, draft picks and their expirings.

    Total B.S.

It's saying that some reporter overheard players in the Detroit locker room who heard a baseless, unsubstantiated rumor started by some moron reporter from Chicago about T-Mac wanting out of Houston and were cracking jokes about T-Mac.

Nothing to see here. This illustrates the virulent effects of bad journalism, and why we can't have irresponsible "journalists" starting rumors like this.

this is why you draft a rudy gay. he's insurance, lets say you trade tmac this offseason, rudy gay then has two years under his belt knows the system and is ready to take on that spot.

Of course, the levels of T-Mac hate on this board have risen to an all time high, so nobody here's smart enough to figure that out before spewing off more vitriol at him. Everybody wants to be judge, jury and executioner. It's almost disgusting at this point.

Whats with all these writers saying TMac is unhappy and wants trade, yet our local writers have not written about such a thing, and we haven't heard about such a thing. You would think if it was true, we would already have heard about it. Plus, "half man, half season" sounds more like something a writer would come up with than a player, like the "Me-Mac" thing in Orlando.

All I've read these past couple of days is how T-Mac can't wait to be back.
