I totally get it now. Not loving one player to the exclusion of all others = being dead wrong. Makes perfect sense.
I'm not the one accusing people of being "dead wrong" for not loving the guy enough. As I've said many times, I like Alpi. Great player, will likely continue to get better. I'm a big fan. I also like a bunch of other guys on our team.
The only people who are "only fans" are those who prioritize an individual player's accolades over team success. Therefore, by definition, Sengun fans cannot be "only fans", because the more you give the franchise player the ball, the better the team will do.
Again. "for not loving the guy enough". No, for making fun of people for 2 years that thought Sengun is very very good, making it sound like we are a cult or something. Taking the most extreme views from a single poster and saying "oo look, here's what THEY think" I also think Sengun has serious shortcoming defensively, and I'm not even sure he will overcome them completely. But that doesn't change the fact he is very very very good, and it was almost very visible from day 1. Making yourself sound like the only rational part in an argument is not fair
When Hakeem was our franchise player, nobody would have called someone who would have worn a 34 jersey or had a Hakeem profile pic (no such thing back then) an "only fan". Now that Sengun is the franchise player, you will get used to people treating him as such. Even if it pains you at first, because you were late to the party. Just deal with it. You will be fine.
Weird, because many of the so-called HOFs seemed dismissive of many astute SOF observations of Alperen in the past, that have proven to be absolutely correct. Running an Adelman Princeton with a young talent that has overlapping skills with the best player in basketball, for instance. (Whatever you do, DO NOT make that comparison, or face the wrath of the HOFs!) HOFs deez nuts... HOF when it suits the agenda.
