At one point in their respective careers, T-Mac was considered better then Kobe. I remember the debate that ESPN had right when we traded for him back in 2004.

It's true T-Mac never had the cast that Kobe had but T-Mac has never put in the time/effort like Kobe has. During the offseasons, Kobe would be working on his game while T-Mac was simply hoping that his talents would just carry over. This is one of the reasons why T-Mac has had such a bad wrap from most of his teams. It's also another reason why T-Mac's body broke down on him. You have to condition your body during the offseason to stay healthy year around. All the greats that ever played the game do this.

I do agree with your body of work does speak for itself. When T-Mac played in the playoffs, I think he averaged like 28 or 27 ppg. I think that's like the third of fourth highest average during the playoffs. I don't care if you play for a bad team or a great team, putting up points does require some type of skill. If you throw out the argument about rings and strictly talk about basketball, I still think you have to rate kobe higher. He's a clutch player. He's a selfish player but you can't deny the man's skill when it comes to scoring when your team needs it the most. When you think of clutch shots for T-Mac, I think you can only talk about the Spurs game and game two in the playoff series against Dallas when he hit that jumper on the top of the key.

In the end, I hope Tracy can still play for a few more years. I'm not a tracy fan anymore but I wish him the best even if he did screw us around.

I think it's hilarious how tinman consistantly gets off topic in tmac threads by bringing up an old retired player!! I don't think he even watches today's games, just old recordings of the 80s and 90s lol

kobe isn't whiny, just competitive, never raped anyone, and the teammates he threw would have been thrown by anyone else, just look at the jokes on brian cook on this forum, even ariza looked like a stud next to kb.

Do you remember the huge ordeal when Kobe demanded a trade..... Then changed his mind...... The dudes always been a head case!

Tmac didn't demand a trade from us, they all just agreed that a trade needed to happen!

But T-Mac had quit on the Orlando Magic during the season and refused to play the remaining games they had that season before he got traded.

You're ignoring the point; It's that Tmac had a better season than Kobe. Obviously Kobe is the better player, that's not the argument.

Either you have never watched Kobe or you just choose to ignore his whining. Kobe is arguably the biggest whiner in the NBA.

How exactly do charitable contributions make McGrady a better basketball player? And out of curiosity, exactly how much did he personally donate? Was it $75k?
