8 assists is hardly selfish, kobe simply makes everyone around him better
t-mac was never as good as kobe, except for one fluke year in orlando

Agreed. When Kobe is in the game, everyone's offensive rebound numbers and 2nd chance points go up in a big way. Those are big in the PER calculation.

The Pistons are just lazy and have quit, I have never seen a team that just doesn't look like it cares more than them.

btw, when I said that T-Mac is better than Kobe, I mean in their primes, as in the Orlando days. If we were to look at results, then, yeah, obviously Kobe is better than T-Mac. I was simply comparing the 00-04 days.

As much as I hate to admit it, Kobe is better than T-Mac overall.

    Just putting things in perspective.

    :)

There's no way in any second of T-mac's life that he was better than Kobe.

That's when you need a leader, teams follow their leaders.

I'd take Kobe over him in every single year.

In fact the whole reason tmac fans existed is because there had to be an anti-Kobe.

Too bad tmac never lived up to that billing. I wish he was better than Kobe at one point, but it's a very obvious no.

I think a lot of people feel that during T-Mac's Orlando days he can be said to be better. Maybe not for long, but for a while. Kobe had Shaq, Tracy had to do it all by himself.

obviously, career-wise, kobe blows mac out of the water. but you saw tmac in 04-05. and you saw kobe in 04-05. that was a year where mac was clearly better than kobe. kobe had career lows in everything that year and his team didn't make the playoffs.

    lol

Carlisle called him the best player in the game (it wasn't true, KG and Duncan were better that time) and every NBA knows that he was the best swingman in the game for three years. Then he came to the Rockets, cause he wanted to play alongside with somebody, who can score a lot and he became less aggressive in scoring department.

He played with a scrubs in Orlando and lead them to the playoffs and pretty good records. Second best player on Orlando' team? Drew Gooden. That's enough.

    Huh, what?!

People were fans of McGrady because he was "Mr Anti-Kobe" rather than "Mr McGrady"???

    No way.

I don't think people are fans of Yao just because there had to be an "Anti-Dwight". lmao.

T-Mac can definitely said to be better than Kobe. 00-05. It's carved in stone.

We got that guy from Orlando.
That T-mac is the same T-mac with a different city and different players and different coaches.

He was good too. there's an illusion that the Orlando Tmac was so much better than houston one. they are the same.
    the western conference was harder.

Not on this green earth or even in the nba2k games or even an alternate universe where man gets enslaved by apes and friendly apes like conelius and zerra help humans find out the truth..

and when they took the tmac fans to the old nba arenas, they saw mvps and championships by KOBE and the tmac fans said " DAMN THEM ALL TO HELL!!"

    No, they were not.

T-Mac in the first season as a Rocket was the same. And what did he do?

He had bad first month and than he was exceptional on regular season and playoffs.

But after back spasms and all injury problems, he started to become a Yao developer, not a potential scoring champion.

We got THAT GUY from Orlando, and he was Tracy McGrady.

You really need to look at the coaches and the supporting cast.

Jeff van Gundy plays at a pace that is slower than a snail trying to emigrate to Alaska. He was totally and completely focused on DEFENSE and he played in a heavily half-court system that ranked bottom in NBA Pace Factors. Kobe probably would have averaged 5 ppg less than T-Mac had he been here under van Gundy.

In Orlando Tracy played in a fast-paced system that allowed him to be the scoring champ, TWICE, in the NBA. It was around that period that he was better than Kobe. I.e. his Orlando days and before his injury in 05-06. The Western Conference was harder, and YET, he took us to the playoffs year after year with home court advantage.

    T-Mac was better than Kobe.
