Just because I can see the positive in a hard fought loss does not mean I enjoy a loss. The glass cannot always be half-empty though.
IF we can perform like that ( with T-mac) and get into the playoffs , it's save to say that the Rockets shall fear NO ONE !
Sorry but I disagree with the topic creator. What difference does it make if we have T-mac in this game? We were leading in the 4th, we have to have the will and the testicular fortitude to hold on to that lead and win the game. But too many times, with or without T-mac, we choke away the lead. Everyone thinks the reason this team is losing close games is because we don't have T-mac. Well GUESS WHAT, we are PLAYING BETTER without T-mac right now than we are with him, but still LOSING. I'll apologize for being a realist/pessimist but if T-mac comes back still with no heart at all we'll be even worse off than now.
Everyone remain calm. Everything is perfectly fine. There is nothing to worry about here. By the way, we're out of coffee. (Cue the chick with big boobs bouncing running around topless)
Well said. Rox played well tonight. they need more practice and more experience of how to execute planned play accurately in the last seconds. Celtics have been doing like 30 games, but Rox just started find their way 5 or 6 games before.
because relying on a center in the clutch has never proven all that successful on a consistent basis. regardless of who the big man is, wing players are usually the guys to close out the game. t-mac is our closer whether he's been successful or not, and he does a better job at closing games than a center can.
We're finally getting it. NOw we just need to keep practicing it and not freeze up when the D-fense tightens up. KG killed us tonight, but this was the best team in basketball right now. We're on the right track, I feel it comeing together. We're mac-gellin!
I m bit dissappointed at Yao's FG. I know the guy did try and is definitely essential to this team. I know the Refs are still trying to kill him on the floor. But his FG is going too far away from what Ive expected. He has beening doing this in a couple of games. I dont know what else I can think of to excuse him, but not this time! RA and Yao, guys, really need to find a way out!!!
I understand the reasoning. However, we have to win some of these games. We cant just be satisfied with the effort. Mac may be out for while. I guess it depends on the expectations. If you are talking about developing and improving the team, headed to the right direction, then yes no panic. If you are talking about playoffs, the worry starts soon.
The "Don't Panic" thread-starting crowd thinks that losing is fine, so long as the reaction is not the dreaded panic. And you know, they really might be right here. Who knows what a buch of panicky internet fans might do, especially those with posting privileges - it makes for a very volatile situation!
Im all for moral victories, which many want to see tonight. The big problem that I see is that by the time Tmac gets back, the team gets used to new rotations with him being back in and working well together like they are doing now...by then... at this rate...it will be almost toooooooooo late to even make the playoffs. Dont think we are gonna become the best in the league all of a sudden and be able to make up 8 to 10 game leads. At the losing rate we are on now, it is conceivable that we could get that far out of the playoff picture. So we just have to hope that all those western conference teams ahead of us play as bad as we do...or otherwise it's done at this rate!
I'm impressed with the fight in the team,I hope James can start contributing too until T-Mac is back.
february is the month i predict we make up enough ground to get into the playoffs. even the way we played tonight, without t-mac, i don't see why we can't beat teams like orlando tomorrow.
I'm confident that we'll turn things around and finish the month strong. These guys are improving game by game, and they know, and I can see it - anyone who's watched the past 15 games can see it. The offense is looking so much better. Even rafer is scoring! Effort doesn't win games, but it's not the effort that makes me feel better, it's the flow of the offense. After 5 years of ugly ball, we finally look like a team that does have to cringe everytime we take a shot. it's About time.
I just don't see us making it into the finals. We need to move players for draft picks to go along with our own.... damn...just remembered. We can't draft worth a damn.
I still think this team will make the playoffs. These losses show you that your can compete but they are inherently frustrating because they still count the same as any other loss. I think the board's frustration lies in the fact that many of us expected 55+ wins this year and were looking forward to that type of season. With this roster I thought 52+ was a given and was even beginning to think that they might win 60. Now, a third of the way through the season and I am starting to worry if the Rockets are going to be lottery bound. No panic.....not yet at least.
Well, 42-40 made it into the playoffs last year. If we can go 27-23 from here on out, maybe we can make eighth seed! I think we can go 27-23.
it took the rockets 30 games to gel. well they're gelling now, just not complete without t-mac. once they click and are healthy, we will win games.
