whatever, I just don't want to go into next season with the same team + 2 unproven rookies. DeShaun is a much better scorer than Bogans will ever be, and is quicker. Dude got drafted out of high school, so he must still have a ton of potential.
this is a low point. we are talking about deshawn stevenson. we should be talking about about the Shaq vs Yao and Tmac vs Dwade. this is a low point. we are talking about adding a player because he's Tmac's pal. this is a low point. the biggest debates on clutchfans this off season are JJ Redick, More Maxwell debate, and Juwan stealing sunglasses this is a low point. Never in my wildest dreams when Dream won his second championship did I think the Rockets would be in the gutter and that the Mavs and Spurs became superior teams. 6.6.6. its the devil. actually the devil would put but better stats then our role players. 6points 6 boards and 6assists.
Stevenson would be a decent addition to the team and would add better depth, but if at all possible I'd much rather go after JR Smith. I wonder if he could be had for the trade exception.
Stevenson is a tradable asset just like Stromile. We gotta stop getting guys like Sura and Jon Barry. They are great guys but they are untradeable. Pick up Stevenson if you can and if he doesn't work out, he is at least a legitimate asset for future trades. The notion that he is a poor defender is silly. Everybody said TMac was a poor defender too and now he regularly takes the toughest matchups. But a guy with Stevenson's talent could legimately stay in front of Kobe or Dwayne once JVG gets him. If he wants to do the S/T for 4.2mil, I say that is better than letting it expire. I'd take Radmonovic over Stevenson but what's the reality of that? Add. DeShawn Stevenson w/ TE Add. MJames or Cassel w/ MLE Add. Burgnani or Sheldon Williams w/ Draft Trade Stro or Juwan for anything useful I'd call that a nice summer. Not sure how realistic but we can dream.
Stevenson is more consistent offensively than Keith Bogans. Take a look at their game logs. Deshawn Stevenson Keith Bogans Stevenson has pretty much the same point production every game. Bogans production was up and down all season.
For our 4.2 trade exception? You'd rather let it expire than nab a possible role-player or future trade piece. Whatever floats your boat.
I think since we're over the cap anyway, we may as well try to use it on someone, instead of letting it expire and you get nothing to show for it.
I remember that. I think it was a 16 yr old a couple of years when he was still with the j*zz. He was only like 19 but come on man!
The quotes about his 3 pt % is plain stupid. He attempted 0.2 3 pt shots last yr. Im concerned about his rebounding and defense. I think he should be a last resort for the TE, but would be good off the bench for sure.
Not wanting to use it on Stevenson is not the same as letting it expire. We have till the next trade deadline to use it. If you take the rumor as truth, Stevenson will want the whole thing. 82games lists Stevenson with the worst plus/minus on the Magic, and a fair salary under $1 million. With a "stat geek" like Morey on board, I'm sure Stevenson's pretty dreadful statistical analysis will not look good. I'm not prepared to give him a multi-year deal starting at over 4 million, AND needing to give the Magic some additional compensation as well. If he wants to sign for the league min., sure give it a shot. I'm just not willing to blow one of our only assets on a journeyman shooting guard who can't shoot.
Tinman don't give into despair because there is still hope. There is so much apathy and fan disgust with current state of this franchise that even Uncle Les has been forced out of his slumber to take notice. Why do you think they did that little "fan appreciation" song-and-dance at the end of the season? It's because he realizes that folks here simply won't continue to come out to the TC and pay top dollar to watch an inferior team that has no real hope of contending for the title. The change in GM is a good first step (albeit several years too late) but the bad news is that won't occur until next year. All that does is to postpone the inevitable shakeup this organization so desperately needs in order to move forward. Hopefully, this ownership and organization will finally get a clue. There's still time to build a competative team while Yao & TMac are still able to play at a high level. But make no mistake about it: time has a habit of running out for the hapless and the clueless.
this franchise is down 0-2 going into america west arena. so Tmac and Yao are healthy and we sign a big free agent and we get somebody in the draft ... does that make us better than phoenix san antonio the lakers the clippers dallas memphis denver ??
