Soulja Boy is pretty popular right now so Lebron was being nice to little deshawn. Looks like now since Gilbert taught little deshawn how to jack up threes this summer he thinks he is a legitimate nba player LEBRON should have said that deshawn was that other guy who is in all of soulja boys videos dancing. That would have been a more accurate comparison
Agreed. It's sad how someone's death led to the current state of Rap music... actually for the last 8-9 years. Hell it even made the underground scene suffer. Both Pac and Big were hitting their strides at the time of their death as far as flo, wordplay, choruses etc etc... I always said this though... If DMX(who is NOT even in my top 25) would've died around the late 90's, he would have had a similar impact on the mainstream Rap fans that Pac had.
I don't know why every always says tupac was the greatest. I think biggie was better. I liked his lyrical wordplay better.
Same here. On my list Pac would probably around 8-12. He had talent, no doubt, but he dies and then all the sudden he is the best? That talk was nowhere around when he was alive... He was always a good writer IMO, and his days with Digital Underground helped him learn how to transfer his poetry into a full rap song format. He knew towards the latter of his career that controversy sells and was great at that. As poetic as he was early on his career, he become more materialistic towards the end... I'm sure the rape accusation made him a way different person, well that and the robbery... His outlook changed to the point where he just wanted money, IMO. I always thought All Eyes On Me should have been one disc, not 2. P.S. - The first time I heard Pac was on a song called "Violent". anyone remember that bass line??
Im just wondering how this thread turned into a hiphop discussion. The moral of the story is that Deshawn wasnt hugged as a child and that is precisely why 1. he only averages 11 ppg 2. The Utah Jazz opted to not resign him 3. why the Orlando Magic gave him a crappy 1 year deal 4. lashes out at superior players, so we can do exactly this...discuss his unremarkable hooping skills Jay-Z >>> Other Rappers (Nas,Soulja Boy Tellem, Ja Rule)....wait Soulja Boy is not a rapper, more like a hype man with a record deal
few things jay Z can't rap, he can just talk about his laundry list and what he likes to spend money on and morons eat it up tupac could flow and had rythum, jayz just annoys the crap outta me LBJ is highly overrated, if he was in the west, he'd get brought back down to earth - and as is the cavs would never win a championship LBJ is insanely good but not anywhere near Kobe imo hence why i say he's overrated, they always compare him to Kobe summary: jayz isn't music, and LBJ has a long way to go before he's as good as his hype.
from wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DeShawn_Stevenson On June 20, 2001, 20-year-old Stevenson was charged with statutory rape. He was accused of having sexual intercourse with a 14 year-old girl from Fresno. On draft night, he was involved in a fight with high school basketball teammates. On the early morning of August 20, 2007, a 31-year oldman (Curtis Ruff) was shot and injured at Stevenson's home, following an argument with women that were invited from Destiny's Club in Orlando, Florida. Circumstances of the incident remain unclear.
Let me tell ya guys something... Overrated or not, the next time those two teams meet, Deshawn is gonna wish he hadn't mouthed off about LeBron. It'd be even more interesting if they end up meeting in the first round of the playoffs. Anybody remember Chris Bosh's cousin mouthing off to LeBron during the game and what happened after that? LeBron is that good. You don't want to piss him off when your team is going to play the Cavs
Wow, that's darn funny. I liked the comparison too, c'mon guys, Jay-Z is terrible, it would be a whole other thing if LeBron would call himself Nas (goat) but Jay-Z, that works fine for me. And oh, I hate LeBron, he's such a punk. I would like to see Olajuwon unretire and block the ***** outta LeTravel.
How dare he make fun of Soulja Boy. Soulja Boy created a revolutionary dance that swept the country. I have yet to see Lerbon create a shot/move that is imitated by little adolescent kids all over the country.
Nas>>>>>>>>>>>Jay-Z Lebron>>>>>>>Stevenson but stevenson is definitely not souljah boy, more like joe buddens
