5 interesting trade packages... https://torotimes.com/2021/08/26/deshaun-watson-trade-ideas/ I actually like the 49er deal the best, because it nets us a young high-potential QB. TEXANS GET LB BRIAN BURNS, QB SAM DARNOLD 2022 & 2023 1ST ROUND PICKS 2022 & 2024 2ND ROUND PICK 2023 3RD ROUND PICK, PANTHERS GET QB DESHAUN WATSON 2022 & 2023 3RD ROUND PICKS 49ERS GET QB DESHAUN WATSON TEXANS GET 2023 1ST ROUND PICK 2024 1ST ROUND PICK LB FRED WARNER QB TREY LANCE BRONCOS GET QB DESHAUN WATSON TEXANS GET QB DREW LOCK, CB PATRICK SUTRAIN II 2022 & 2023 1ST ROUND PICKS 2022 & 2023 2ND ROUND PICKS EAGLES GET QB DESHAUN WATSON TEXANS GET 3 2022 1ST ROUND PICKS * 2024 2ND ROUND PICK QB JALEN HURTS WR DEVONTA SMITH DOLPHINS GET QB DESHAUN WATSON TEXANS GET QB TUA TAGOVAILOA WR JAYLEN WADDLE 2022 1ST ROUND PICK 2022 2ND ROUND PICK
I had to click on that article to make sure it wasn't written before the Watson fiasco and, yup, this guy is really dreamcasting. Call me crazy but I don't think the 49ers are going to send us Trey Lance, Warner and 2 1st rounder or the Eagles are going to give up both Hurts and Smith plus picks for Watson right now.
Hurts, Lock and Tua aren’t assets. Philly package isn’t near enough. San Fran package is a pipe dream. I would do Watson for Lance straight up right now
Panthers and Denver packages are about what I think could happen. Good young defensive players with a bunch of picks and young QB that have warts. Tua and Hurts aren’t going to be good. San Fran offer would be unbelievable, take out the picks and I would do it just for the players.
If I'm San Francisco, I wouldn't even do it for Lance straight up. If you've got a decent team with a talented young QB you're excited about, why deal him for the massive headache that will be Watson the next year or two?
I don't want any qb in return especially not Tua, Hurts or Drew ****ing Lock yuck and I highly doubt San Fran would give up Lance or is even still interested in Watson at this point. Packages should be 2-3 picks and a very good player
If laremy tunsil, Jamal Adams and Jalen Ramsey we’re all traded for two first round picks, then a franchise qb like Watson is worth at least five first round picks. Also, Texans shouldn’t make a trade unless they get a young franchise qb in return
If a team had a young franchise QB on their roster why would they trade for Watson? The jury is still out on Tua being a franchise QB if that's the example we were going to go by.
I dont think a QB in return is high on the list of the current decision makers. Tyrod and Davis will be the guys there so I would structure trade proposals around elite defenders and draft picks. Maybe some offensive skill guys as secondary pieces, but no QBs.
Why should the Texans just trade deshaun and just give him away? Tua is a scrub, he kinda reminds me of Osweiler.
I don't think I said anything about giving Watson away. I'm trying to find the logic in what you stated, that's all.
Besides the 49ers package, I would accept the Philly deal, Its a great package too, 3 1st round picks (actually 4 if you consider Devonta Smith) a good QB in Hurts and 2nd round picks. I dont want Sam Darnold or Drew Lock, they both suck.
San Fran is obviously the best but it ain’t happening. Denver and Carolina are the next best because of the defensive players and amount of picks. And the fact that both of those teams are in really tough divisions. Philly is good just because of the picks, Hurts is a negative asset
Right but my question is still why should we expect a team to send a "young franchise QB" our way for Watson? Like...isn't that the reason a team would trade for Watson in the first place, because they need a young franchise QB? The best we'll get is a package of picks that we could use one of the picks on drafting a potential franchise QB. No team, especially after this Watson fiasco, is going to hand over a franchise QB plus picks for Watson. Sure the team might include the QB in there as part of the package but, like you and some have already said, these guys aren't franchise QBs...they would basically be stop gaps at best.
