I would trade with Miami. 2 1sts and a 2nd this year. 1st and 2nd next year Tua and Xavien Howard. Then either flip Tua or trade the 3rd overall for more draft capital. Depending on if they want Tua or a QB in the draft.
With the Bills being a solid team in the AFC east, the Dolphins knocking on the door(a franchise QB away), and the jets knowing if they don’t find a franchise QB quickly- they will be in the division’s basement for years... you have to create a bidding war between the Jets and Dolphins. Luckily for us, the two teams with the most draft capital happen to play in the same division, and each team is probably terrified of the other getting Deshaun. If Caserio plays this right(I think he will if cal and Joke stay out of his way) we will receive a historic haul.
" (If Cal and Joke stay out of his way.") Never underestimate stupidity, pride and ego. I made the mistake of thinking Cal had finally learned from his boo boos somewhere around week 16.
Everyone assumes that those 2 are the best trade prospects, but I think we're overlooking the potential thought process of making sure we don't trade him in the same conference. I agree, that from a pure quantity and quality perspective they offer the most, but if Caserio doesn't want him to go to the AFC, or if Deshaun says that's too much for the Jets/Dolphins to give up, and so we have to trade with another team and focus on young players vs picks, that could change the entire thing.
One thing to keep an eye on: A lot of smoke about a potential Russel Wilson trade to Chicago. If that does happen(no idea how likely).... the Seattle 2022 first round pick- which is owned by the Jets, becomes very valuable. In the NFC west- a Russ-less Seattle team could be in rebuild mode. I don’t think the Jets will be very good, even if they acquire Deshaun, in 2021. If we acquired the Jets 21’, 22’ 1st rd picks, the Seattle 22’ 1st rd pick... we’d be looking at potentially 4 top 10 picks in the next 2 years. (Assuming the Texans are in the running for the #1 pick next year). Add a couple day 2 draft picks and we have the blue print to build a very competitive roster top to bottom
Time to resurrect this thread. Let the bidding begin... https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl...-rumors-cost-texans/pqngkij9rr8c19t7akufsqbyk MIA, PHIL, DEN, CAR and who else should be in play?
Now? I mean it depends on what they would give. If they said Wilson, Williams and a first and second I would think about it.
I want Jones too. With Watson's money off the books, the Texans should be able to give Jones the extension the Arizona is refusing him
We need to trade Watson for actual players plus draft capital, not just picks alone. Unless u r banking Watson can't play cause of legal reason. If he does play u can bet your ass those picks r gonna b worthless
Can we not do a contingency trade? If Deshaun ends up missing a whole season from suspension, we only get 2 first round draft picks, etc?
Saw a rumor of 2 1st and Devonta Smith, then saw this... https://www.sportscasting.com/eagle...d-savior-devonta-smith-already-come-fruition/
