If Watson is playing the game is probably going to get flex scheduled to a Sunday night primetime spot instead of being regionally aired which means more viewers. More viewers mean more advertising revenue. Not to mention, there will be increased attention on this game which will lead to ancillary benefits for media outlets that cover the NFL and surrounding businesses in the Houston area.
All things being equal, you really think Houston-Cleveland would get flexed to SNF over KC-Cincinnati in case the NFL decides Dallas-Indianapolis is a no go?
Yeah, for sure. It's definitely a possibility; especially if Texans are competing for a playoff spot. But I admit, they probably won't do it if Texans are terrible and out of the playoff race by then.
I want Watson shadow banned from the league, but man I sure was looking forward to making his ears bleed with boos. Watson better have some thick skin because whenever he does come back the heckling is going to be intense and constant.
The Texans-Browns game won't get flexed because the last thing the NFL wants is even more attention on its biggest scandal.
Lol you completely missed my point. I'm just stating the unfortunate truth, no one even mentions what happens with Ben because he went on to win after his assault case the same will happen with Deshaun. I hate that society is like this but unfortunately that's all what most fans care about at the end of the day as long as their team is winning. When Deshaun plays again and if he's successful especially in a place like Cleveland he'll be the hero and this case will be a thing of the past.
That's a cop out, but I could see the league doing it. They get to pretend they are tough on abusers while getting Watson back on the field quickly. Honestly It should be the full season this year, have them say that makes it 2 years.
So in the span of a couple years: 1. Watson got "massages" from over 60 women 2. Got a fully paid contract - 1st ever in NFL history? 3. Playing now on a more talented team 4. Could leverage the year he gave up on the City of Houston into suspended games Yup, I'm sure he's learned many valuable lessons on how to treat woman.
USC/UCLA to the Big Ten KD requesting a trade NBA Free Agency about to begin Perfect time for news dump! …or not.
You know let Watson get no suspension at all, the vitriol that both the NFL and Watson receive will be apocalyptic.
I bet the outrage would last a few days and then most people will move on to the next hot button issue. IF the judge says no suspension, there's supposed to be a report released to justify the decision. But even that still won't be enough for some people.
